Year:1989 Mileage:89000

United States

Up for Sale is a 1989 Ford Mustang GT. 5.0L Automatic. A little over 89,000 miles. 25th Anniversary Edition. Always garage kept, mostly stock. Very good condition, fun and fast.

I did a lot of work on the car right after I got it. Roughly 9 years ago.

Aftermarket Konig Rims (4 lug) with Kumho Tires. Tires are in good shape, but not new. Original rims will come with the vehicle.

Added long headers and a full Dynomax Cat-back Exhaust.

AOD Transmission was replaced with a brand new AOD transmission with Shift Kit and additional clutch plates.

Re-Painted the original color, the old paint was really dull.

Sony Explode CD player w/ 2 MTX 10" Subs.

Top goes up and down easily.

New water pump last year.

Again, this car is 25 years old now.

A few items I want to point out. The front seats are a little worn, but can be re-covered, they are easily available on-line.

The top will need to be replaced at some point. The stitching below the rear window is giving out (SEE PIC) and there is a small pucture hole in the top from parking lot vandalism. The last time I drove it in the rain, it did not leak.

There is also a small spot coming through above the rear wheel. The shop that painted the car was supposed to repair this when painting it, but did not. (SEE PIC)

The rear main seal has started to leak, probably from sitting and not being driven. Can be driven as is, just need to keep an eye on the oil level and top off once in a while.

Again, this car is in very good condition overall. These are just minor items, but I wanted to point them out.

I have only driven this car like a 100 miles in the last 6 years. It needs to get driven, that's the only reason I want to sell it. Let someone else it enjoy it now.

I require a $500 non-refundable deposit. Full payment within 7 days by certified check or cash.

The car will not leave until paid in full and clear.

The buyer is reponsible for all shipping.

There is no warranty implied or expressed. Car is sold 'as is'.

Please contact me if you would like to come inspect the vehicle.

Focus ST diesel variant coming, just don't look for it here

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

A few years back, Volkswagen made some waves when it announced the Golf GTD - a diesel-powered car that, aside from its ultra-efficient, ultra-torquey engine, was identical to the gas-powered GTI. That meant cosseting sport seats, larger wheels, sportier suspension, larger brakes and a body kit that made the GTD indistinguishable from the GTI, except for the three little letters on the back and in the grille.
Now, Ford is looking to replicate VW's success, with a diesel version of the Focus ST. According to Motor Trend, the diesel-powered ST will use a 2.0-liter, 182-horsepower four-cylinder. With an unspecified amount of torque on offer (we'd guess around 280 pound-feet), the diesel hot hatch should hit 62 miles per hour in about eight seconds.
The report, which originally comes from Auto Express, claims the ST Diesel was confirmed by Ford Chief Marketing Officer Mark Fields during this week's Geneva Motor Show. Not surprisingly, it doesn't appear there are any plans to bring a diesel-powered Focus of any kind to the US, let alone one that uses the suspension, steering and other items from the ST. Of course, if there's an official confirmation from Ford, we'll be sure to report on it.

2015 Ford Mustang leaked in Autoweek

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

We would have to imagine that Ford knew it couldn't keep its 2015 Mustang under wraps for too long, and with only days to go before the pony car's official unveiling, the dam seems to be cracking. SVTPerformance.com member Screamin 40th just posted some images taken of the sixth-gen Mustang prominently featured in and on the cover of the December 9 issue of Autoweek magazine.
These images show that recent renderings we saw weren't too far off. The face is just like what we saw in spy shots a few months back, but the rear of the car features some of its more striking cues. Starting with the pronounced haunches and hidden B-pillars, the rear view of the new Mustang might be its best with the ridged, three-bar taillights, a rear diffuser and the lack of a faux gas cap, which allows the galloping pony to be an even more prominent element against the black trim.
The images also reveal a small portion of the updated interior carrying over retro themes like the deep-dish steering wheel and dual-gauge instrument cluster, but it also adds some modern tech with a big infotainment displays and a clean center stack layout. No official word on powertrain or other specs, but while we can't make out most of the magazine's text, our eyes did catch mentions of an independent rear suspension and a 200-pound weight reduction.

Ford Green Zone works magic with GPS to make your drive smarter, cleaner

Fri, Aug 29 2014

For the most part, plug-in hybrids rely on the power stored in the battery until that charge is depleted. Unless the switch can be changed manually, it's only then that the cars fire up the internal combustion engine and begin using the fossil fuels on board. This is ideal, of course, when one's drive isn't long enough that the car needs to start sipping gasoline at all. On longer commutes, when it's certain that the route is longer than the car's all-electric range, this isn't necessarily the most efficient use of energy. Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds. Ford is working on a smart system, based on Nokia mapping technology, that uses GPS data to use both the electricity and conventional fuel more efficiently. Since battery power is less efficient at highway speeds, Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds, rather than just using up all the electrons right at the beginning of the drive. Using a website or the in-car navigation system, the driver can pinpoint the parts of the route, highlighted in green, where using battery power would be more effective, and set the car to automatically switch to electricity for those sections. Depending on the route, the car could automatically switch back and forth between the two power sources multiple times, particularly if the drive is a mix between city and highway driving. Of course, Green Zone will be go beyond that. The program is being developed to take traffic and road grade into account, details that allow the car to be make even smarter choices to improve efficiency. Ford even hopes to have Green Zone learn driver habits, and respond accordingly depending on who is driving the car. The system could control other features as well, such as anticipating corners and shifting the headlights to better illuminate the road ahead. Green Zone could also potentially use information from vehicle-to-vehicle networking to control functions in the car. The Green Zone system still has a few years before it will be ready to be put into production vehicles, but Ford is confident it will make its way onto the road eventually. As with other innovations that improve efficiency and make our vehicles smarter, we can expect to see similar technology from other manufacturers, until it becomes a regular part of driving in the future.
