Up for sale is my 1989 Mustang GT Convertible. I have owned several fox body mustangs over the years and this one is in the best shape of any of them. I bought the car in January from a Ford Dealership in IL. where the owner of the dealership won the car in a charity auction. The original owner had decided to put the car in a charity auction to raise money for his church and the owner of the dealership won the bid and put the car in his dealership showroom. A friend of mine that worked at the dealership heard that the owner wanted to sell the car and knew that I was looking for a GT Convertible Fox body. I am the second private owner. The car is in amazing shape and is 1 of 470 Dark Grey Metallic over Titanium cars Ford ever made. In my opinion this is a great color because it doesn't scream 80's. In my opinion the 1989 GT's are the best of the Fox Body's because it is the last year of the tilt wheel, Mass Air, and they started to detune for emissions in the following years. The car has had one repaint and the paint looks good but is not perfect. The interior is all original but I did reupholster the front seats due to the driver's seat having a tear from the seat belt that I couldn't live with. The top is like new and the carpet is very good for a 24 year old car. I have looked at a lot of fox body mustangs over the years and this one is in better condition than many of the 30K mile cars I looked at. I have the original Turbine wheels but I like the pony wheels so that is what I put on it. The Turbines go with the car if you want them. Convertibles NEED subframe connectors so I added them, they are the bolt on but you can either take them off to be original or weld them in. I also changed the rear gear from 2.73 to 3.55's because the 2.73 are just WAY to high.
This car has not been molested it is correct in every way. It is a true survivor car that is priced right. The underside of this car looks like it is brand new. I also installed a K member brace up front with a new steering rack to firm up the front in. The old steering rack had a small leak and needed to be replaced. I am sure I am forgetting some things but if you have questions or need more photos etc just call me at 314-303-eight, five, two, zero

Ford not backing down on MPG-based marketing strategy
Thu, Jun 26 2014The Blue Oval may have to back off a bit from the green messaging. Ford has had to lower fuel-economy ratings on a number of 2013 and 2014 model-year vehicles, namely its hybrids. And that may force the US automaker to rethink some of its marketing strategy, Automotive News reports. Ford has spent much of the year pushing its fuel-efficiency improvements, with everything from a Super Bowl ad saying its Fusion Hybrid gets "almost double" the fuel efficiency of an average vehicle (after the recalculation, it's now more like 75 percent better) to claiming the Fiesta is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid in the US (it's actually the Mitsubishi Mirage) to stating the C-Max Hybrid gets better fuel economy than the Toyota Prius V (it doesn't). Nonetheless, Ford doesn't plan on changing its mpg marketing emphasis anytime soon, the company said in an e-mailed statement to AutoblogGreen. "Providing customers great fuel economy is a key part of our Ford vehicle DNA." "Providing customers great fuel economy is a key part of our Ford vehicle DNA," the company said. "We will continue to highlight our vehicles features and attributes in our advertising and marketing, which includes fuel economy and fuel-saving technologies like EcoBoost and hybrids." Earlier this month, Ford said it would lower the fuel-economy ratings of models such as the C-Max, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ Hybrids as well as most of the Fiesta line because of mistakes in the company's internal testing data. It was the second change for the C-Max Hybrid. The good news for Ford is that its fleetwide fuel economy is up almost 40 percent from a decade ago, compared to an improvement of around 23 percent for Toyota. Still, while sales of Ford hybrids and plug-ins are about even with last year through the first five months of 2014, C-Max Hybrid sales have plunged 49 percent from a year earlier. Earlier this year, Ford admitted that the first fuel economy downgrade had a negative effect on sales and we can find proof in the numbers. Before that the change was announced, in August 2013, Ford was consistently selling over 2,000 – and sometimes over 3,000 – C-Max Hybrids a month. In September, it dropped to 1,424, then to 1,438 in October. It didn't climb back above 2,000 until May 2014. The second mpg adjustment was announced in June.
2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Wed, 12 Dec 20122012 is almost in the books and automakers are spending December gearing up for the 2013 auto show season, which tips off next month at the Detroit Auto Show. Traditionally, the latter opens up with the announcement of the North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards, and this year figures to be no different.
But up until this moment, we didn't know which six vehicles would be parked ahead of the stage as finalists, with executives and engineers waiting for the winners to be disclosed. Whittled down from October's "short list" of nominees (11 cars and 10 truck/utility vehicles), the finalists are as follows:

Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index
Tue, 25 Jun 2013With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."
