This is a 1987 Ford Mustang 5.0 302 fuel injected. It is in great shape and has been garage kept. Take it out on the weekend and to car shows only. Engine is strong and passed emissions regularly but  I got an Antique Tag were it is no longer required. Has Cobra R hood and wing. All NEW RUBBER Firehawk Indy 500's on Pony Rims. Has a cold air intake kit and a short throw shifter kit on it as well. New Radiator and hoses with dual electric fans and new water pump and thermo stat, no running hot here. New starter and starter solenoid as well as new battery. Wires and plugs done recently. Allways change the oil even though I don't drive it much, use Pennzoil only with Fram filters. Has Dual H-pipes with Flow Masters on it, Sounds good, sounded even better when it was cut off at the mufflers but damn emissions screwed that up. lol Interior is all original and kept it clean, still has some issues here and there for its age but one of the better ones out there. Now this is were we get down to brass tax, this is one of the best Mustangs you are going to find out there that hasn't been completely molested. I do want you to know it is 26 years old and needs some tlc, transmission still operates pretty good but grinds a little going into reverse. Get a little vibration around 70mph so I would say a transmission will be needed in the future depending what u got planned for this thing. Other than that she is solid. Wanted to put a 427 stroker in this thing with a 6 speed but have been too busy with work as I travel a lot, hope this goes to someone who can take it there. I have already talked to a shipper who can have it delivered  at a reasonable rate.(E.S. Adams Trucking)

NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.

Ford C-Max spied with fresh updates

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

The Ford C-Max hatchback looks to be getting a few cosmetic updates, as evidenced in this latest set of spy photos. Like the smaller Focus, which also received a nip/tuck for the 2015 model year, the C-Max appears to be getting a revised front fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more, shall we say, Aston Martin-like grille. Around back, there looks to be a new bumper with redesigned taillamps, as well.
In other markets, the C-Max people-mover is available with a range of powertrains, but here in the US, it exists either as a traditional gas-electric or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max's fuel economy has been a particular topic of interest lately, with its official fuel economy ratings having been lowered twice since the vehicle's launch. Sales initially suffered a bit following this fiasco, though numbers have since leveled out. It's unclear if Ford is working on any powertrain tweaks for the updated C-Max seen here, however.
Ford has likely spruced up the hatch's interior, as well, though we don't have photos of that at this time. Mum's the word on when we'll see the new C-Max, but our best guess is that it'll arrive sometime in the next year.

Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
