HI,Up for sale is my 1985 Mustang GT I am selling the car for unfotunate reasons my fiance has had multiple brain anurisms&a stroke so I need money&cant enjoy the car.Let me tell you a bit about the car.The car only has 57771 miles on it.First I will start when I got the car it had only 40,000 miles on it. Ive had it about 4 years,Ive put alot of money into the car. I will start with the history of the car it was a (dealer special order car).It is a ford factory original sunroof car which makes it rare what makes it even more rare I found is the car was ordered in early 1985 with a full roller carburated 4 barrel TRW motor with 9.5 to 1 compression right from the factory. This means that the motor came with TRW pistons, rods, and crankshaft right from ford with roller lifters&roller camshaft&roller rocker arms right from ford as well. The car came with(NO power windows or power locks also NO air conditioning and when you order a factory original sunroof car ford strengths and reinforces the frame at the factory making it stronger than a standard mustang frame.Im informed by ford that this car is a special order only car that no dealer would ever stock this car on his lot it is a special customer ordered car in the ford dealers opinion this individual ordered this car for racing applications from the factory.I recieved my information from ford dealers and 2 performance ford engine specialists on the car.I will now tell you the upgrades I have done to the car.starting with the under carriage.

I have put new front struts&new rear shocks&new rear axle dampners on the car.I have also installed adjustable spring blocks on the front&rear springs as well.

The exhaust is starting at the engine hooker jet hot coated 3/4 length headers going into 21/2 inch pipe to dynomax turbotube mufflers with 21/2 inch tailpipes with extra 36 inch long polished stainless steel tips and tailpipes are custom to accomadate 11 inch tires with no problem.

The rear axle&differential is 8.8 rear differential with 3:23 gears and ford factory traction bars and pinion snubber.

The wheels are american racing outlaw wheels all the way around

The rear tires are BFG G-FORCE drag radial T/A size 275/50/15 tires

The front tires are GOODYEAR invader GT size 215/60/15 tires

Have matching BFG G-FORCE size 235/60/15 tires for front but can use on rear if you want these if you want for (additional cost)

Have a complete set another addition set of radial street driving tires if you want for (additional cost)

all six extra tires can be bought for $300 additional dollars with car

The transmission is a ford manual with all new gears&sychros

The car has a new flywheel &clutch&pressure plate&throwoutbearing assemblies

The shifter is new with hurst shifter lever&handle with ford linkage

Now for the engine I was never going to rebuild the engine but I found a deal on a blower/supercharger I just could not pass up

Engine is stock it has just been honed and still has 9.5 to 1 comperession the original trw pistons&rods were checked and reconditioned & rings were replaced & crankshaft was replaced with hardned crankshaft for supercharged engine along with the bearings&rings all replaced to accomadate supercharged engine.Engine has been completly balanced&blueprinted. Engine also has Comp Cams roller camshaft and roller lifters with ford motorsport 1.72 roller rocker arm assemblies with quiet pete jackson gear drive to eliminate the timing chain that way the timing can never skip or jump during high RPMS engine has new water pump and chrome metal radiator hoses and new ford distributor with ford motorsport ignition wires&wire holders and Accel ignition high intestity coil. The BLOWER/SUPERCHARGER is a B&M FORCED INDUCTION SERIES blower that has been rebuilt&tested by GARY DYER of DYERS BLOWERS personally. At this time the blower is set up at 5.5 pounds of boost but can go as hi as 12 pounds of boost by just changing pulleys. Now for the information about the heads when the motor was blueprinted we designed it with edelbrock, comp cams, and dyers blowers having multiple 3 way calls with all of them they advised us to use a certain edelbrock rpm cylinder head which I have the part number for to use with this camshaft &engine design and I do have the cam card as well.Unforunatly for me at the time I have another car which is a pro street cuda that had a major failure at the track.I decided to put the matching comp cams valve springs on the stock heads&port the heads myself to save money so at the time I could fix my other car. The car really needs those heads because the heads arent flowing right so when the car is cold it runs rough when it warms it gets better spoke to edelbrock they informed that those stock heads wont work they are junk they wont flow enough and the valves are just plain to small and spoke to comp cams as well they said the same thing defintely valves are to small to make your engine design work great with your cam and valve train set up the car must have the edelbrock rpm heads they said plain and simple. So basically you should get the edelbrock rpm heads&according to edelbrock&comp cams&dyers blowers the engine design with these heads should be at 590 horsepower with complete comfortably&everday driveability if you want and that is what I wanted a good reliable street car.

Now for the outside body it is compltely rust free & the under carriage is mint the car has nicely tinted rear windows&side windows passenger door lock assembly was damaged upon theft attempt but door and all mechanisms work just fine paint is ok just faded and fin on rear of car needs paint has 1971 style fiberglass twin scoop hood I do have original hood goes with car

interior is nice no rips in seat good condition dash has no cracks dash is nice and when I bought the car the owner gave me a ford motor sports dash in the box which I installed right away with 140mph speedo in it

radio is a sony removable face head unit with cd player&aux hook ups& 4 additional 6x9 speakers installed in addition to all speakers in stock positions all speakers replaced with all sony speakers

what I wanted here was a fast car to drive everyday&if I wanted to have fun on the street or track I could at any given time and most importantly make it everyday dependable

if you have any questions feel free to call me my name is Tim and my cell phone is 1-630-973-3141 if I dont answer right away I check my message frequently I will call you back asap. thank again for looking and good luck

Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test

Tue, Oct 25 2016

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:

Mercury rises around sexy Cougar pack

Sat, May 30 2015

With a slightly larger body and a more luxurious interior, the Mercury Cougar doesn't carry quite as much cachet among pony car enthusiasts as the venerable Ford Mustang. But don't try to make that argument around Cougar super-fan Mike Brown. Since starting his Cougar collecting in 1988, Brown has become an absolute expert on the model, and he claims to have owned 400 of the Mercury pony cars in that time. Ten of them are in his collection today, not to mention a heap of spare parts in the garage. Check out some of the rarer members of Brown's fleet and allow him to tell you about them in this interesting interview from Electric Federal.

We compare 2021 Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport specifications to their ritzy Land Rover competiton

Tue, Jul 14 2020

The 2021 Bronco and Bronco Sport are the spearheads for Ford's new 4x4 sub-brand, with the former taking the fight directly to the Jeep Wrangler and the latter providing Ford with a more rugged alternative to the Escape. We've already looked at how the new Bronco and Bronco Sport compare to their mainstream competition, but we'd like to see how the Bronco stacks up to another hotly anticipated returning nameplate: the Land Rover Defender.  Not to leave its little sibling in the cold, I decided to browse Land Rover's lineup and see what might be a suitable counterpoint to the Bronco Sport. For better or worse, I found an almost-perfect fit in the Range Rover Evoque. So, how do these new American 4x4s compare to the Old Country's more-expensive alternatives? Let's dig in, starting with the big boys.  As you might expect from the Bronco's robust credentials, it holds its own here against the more-expensive Brit. The Defender's higher price point brings along a good bit of power advantage with both engines, but that's to be expected. The Defender also has that trick adjustable-height suspension that the Bronco lacks, giving it an edge in practicality, and it can also tow quite a bit more.  On the flip side, there are quite a few advantages to going with the Ford, including a greater number of choices in terms of powertrain. The available manual transmission on four-cylinder Broncos is a nice bonus, for instance, as is the option of getting either the base 2.3-liter or the optional 2.7-liter engine with either wheelbase. The Defender is a bit more restrictive in this regard offering only the inline-six on the short-wheelbase model. As an added bonus, the Bronco is a convertible. That may not necessarily be a "plus" for all shoppers, but it's certainly an added bit of versatility (and potential appeal) the Defender lacks. And of course, the Bronco can be had for as little as $30,000, whereas the Land Rover starts at $50,000. Now, on to the less-rugged siblings. The specs here are actually a little tighter in most respects, but the powertrain story is almost identical. The Evoque checks in where the Bronco Sport tops out, and the Range Rover gets an optional high-output variant of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four.
