1984 Ford Mustang 20th Anniversary Edition GT350 Convertible, 5.0, 5 speed manual transmission, 22,00 miles. With the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Mustang, this is possibly the nicest 20th Anniversary Edition Mustang Convertible in existence. This car still wears its original Oxford White paint that is in perfect condition. Original Canyon Red interior that is perfect with no rips, tears, fading, etc. This car is well documented, with all original documentation (i.e. window sticker, bill of sale, warranty card, dealer and promotional items, and Mart Report). TRX wheels that are in beautiful condition. Michelin TRX tires that are perfect. 5.0 engine is original. Any parts that have been replaced on the engine (i.e. spark plug wires) have been replaced with Motorcraft Parts, but any part that has been changed I still have the original parts that will come with the car. Four barrel Holly carburator has been replaced with a remanufactured carb, but again, still ahve the original. Many factory markings are still visible on the car (See photo of finger pointing to marking). The car received the full Ziebert Rustproofing on the underside, interior and paint. Ziebert rustproofing in the engine bay was light and sparatic, so it was carefully removed with beautiful results. Rustproofing was sprayed in every body panal and the holes were plugged with factory style plugs (See photo of finger pointing to plug). I have done my best to describe this car as it is. The only issue currently is the remanufactured carb needs adjustment. I will leave that to the professionals. This car is being sold with no warranty expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Buyer is responsible for pick-up of the car, but I will assist in anyway I can. A $500.00 deposit is required from the winner within 24 hours of close of auction. I will only accept cash, or certified bank check from a recongnized bank. Payment will be discussed with the winner. The car is available for viewing on Saturdays or Sundays only, and is located 70 miles northwest of New York City. Feel free to call me with any questions you may have (845) 346-5312. Joe

1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper
Thu, 07 Nov 2013Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.
Bill Ford says carsharing helps Ford, EVs need to be clean
Mon, Sep 8 2014To most people, Bill Ford is most famous for being the great-grandson of Henry Ford. But, as the executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, Ford has also been leading the company into greener and greener territory. At the morning plenary session for the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Detroit today, Ford discussed a wide variety of topics, including connected cars (of course), plug-in vehicle and how Ford's collaboration with Zipcar came about because of he liked what the Zipcar CEO was excited about getting cars off the road. Given that the conference has a big focus on communication between cars this year, it's no surprise that Ford talked about his company's work on that front. He's looking at the long term, though, and says that despite announcements like the one General Motors made yesterday about Super Cruise, when fully autonomous vehicles get here, it won't be headline news since the ground work is being laid by technologies coming to cars in bits and pieces now. In other words, your adaptive cruise control is getting ready for bigger and better things. "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." – Bill Ford On the zero-emission vehicle front, Ford said that while he's in favor of electric vehicles, "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." He was discussing the emissions reality of coal-powered electricity, and said that, "We've got to have a national discussion about what we want our grid to look like." As for the work that Ford is doing with Zipcar (which is just one of the many automaker carsharing operations out there today), Ford said that he first approached Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith after hearing Griffith talk at a green conference four or five years ago. Griffith was surprised, Ford said, because he had just given a talk about ways to reduce car ownership. "Did you hear my speech? I talked about taking cars off the road," Ford remembers Griffith saying. "Yeah, and what's going to happen without us," Ford responded. Today, the partnership allows Ford to get cars to people that have traditionally been "hard to reach," like college students on campuses. Ford's vehicles are currently available on 250 colleges campuses. Ford then spoke favorably about other challenges to the traditional car ownership model, like Lyft and Relay Rides. "Rather than being frightened by that, we need embrace it and help makes their companies better," he said.
As US exports top 2 million, is America becoming the world's source of cheap cars?
Mon, Feb 9 2015North American auto production is booming with 2014 figures just shy of the of the 17.3-million vehicle record set in 2000. With more models being built on the continent, even more are being shipped overseas. Factories in the US exported 2.1 million cars last year – the highest number ever. About half of those went to Canada and Mexico, but more than ever have been heading to places like the Middle East and China. The upswing comes in part from from after-effects from the Great Recession, according to The Wall Street Journal. With a weak dollar and lower production costs after the financial crisis, building vehicles in the US was relatively cheaper and more competitive in the world. At the same time buyers around the world are going crazy for crossovers. According to the WSJ, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already exporting the majority of their US production of these models overseas. Both automakers have also announced investments to expand production further here to send more vehicles abroad. Even Honda has been shipping more models out of the country than it imported here. There is a concern this international strength could start slowing because the dollar is strengthening against other currencies, though it's too early to know what the actual effect of this could be, according to the WSJ. "Of course, we closely watch currency exchange, but we don't make changes in production or allocation based on temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate," Ford North American boss Joe Hinrichs told the newspaper.
