This is a no reserve auction, high bidder is the new owner of my car. Zero feedback bidders will be blocked and removed, no out of U.S. bidders unless contacting me first. No trades.
Up for sale/auction is my 1970 Mustang Fastback. I have owned this car almost one year and have tried to do most of the hard stuff so that the new owner will have a rather easy restoration. This car does run and move under its own power; however, it still needs work and can not be driven any distance. The engine is the numbers matching original 302 2V with C4 auto trans. The brakes work good enough to stop it at slow speeds and it will need work to make the lights, wipers, etc function properly.
Lots of work and time have been put into the body to make this car something a begginer can tackle and improve on. The floor pan is a new one piece Dynacorn, the drivers door skin is new, pass. side rear quarter is new and the trunk lid is also new. The new floor includes new seat risers. Also the torque boxes are new from Dynacorn as are the floor supports. There is still room for improvement on the front and rear frame rails but they are ok to use if you want to dig into that at a later time. All the glass is good, the dash pad is flawless, the guages are in nice shape. The factory floor shifter is a little sloppy but does work. As you can see in the pics the factory green interior will need recovered and it still needs carpet. The headliner is actually rather nice for the age with only one or two small bad spots. As for the wheels, they are near show condition American Racing. Because of the age of the gas tank, I decided for now to have the engine running off of an auxiliary fuel jug.
This car has a Deluxe Marti Report. It was built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant in June of 1970. It is a Mustang Sportsroof...302 2V Engine...rare Lime Metallic Paint...Medium Ivy Green Rhino/Corinthian Vinyl Bucket Seats...2.79 Conventional Axle Ratio...C-4 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission...and Special Order #33 Detroit Ordering District....It was sold new at North Bros Ford..33300 Ford Road..Westland MI 48185...Also, an interesting fact, this car was actually produced on June 16, 1970--three days ahead of schedule. I have the free and clear OH title in hand.
If you have been wanting and looking for a nice, solid, running Fastback but don't want to refinance your house to get one, this car is for you. If you have any questions you can email me or text/call 937-935-six178. Thanks for looking, Shane
I require a $300. non refundable deposit as soon as this auction ends. The car is to be picked up and me paid in full by 2 weeks of auction end. I am happy to work with shippers if you set it up. Your welcome to come in person but please bring cash. You are also welcome to transfer the money from your bank to mine.

Reborn Ford Escort could make its way to Europe
Fri, 26 Apr 2013The Ford Escort concept just unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show was created with the Chinese market in mind, but it's got people talking all over the world. Not purely fancy, the point of the Escort concept was to give Chinese buyers a preview of what they could expect to see in a Ford showroom in the near future. If Ford wasn't seriously considering the new Escort for other countries, a report in Auto Express indicates that the concept's reception has changed all that.
No less than the incoming chairman of Ford UK said "it could work in other places," bolstering the comments of "a senior Ford insider" who said the question of bringing the car to Europe to slot in underneath the Focus had been raised. That's a long way from anything of the kind happening, which would require Ford to figure out how to sell it for the right price and not torpedo the company reputation among Euro buyers. In any case, we'd be as intrigued as anyone if an Escort resurrection created the next 'who knew?' market segment of few-frills transportation offered by non-Asian carmakers.
Ringbrothers shows off Coyote-powered 1968 Mercury Cougar
Thu, Feb 25 2021We'll openly admit that not every SEMA build is our cup of tea. But this? A tastefully resto-modded 1968 Mercury Cougar with a 460-horsepower Ford Mustang V8? Yeah, this is right in our wheelhouse. Sadly, there was no in-pwerson SEMA show in 2020, so we missed out on gems like this one. SEMA or no SEMA, the aftermarket carries on, and co-owners Jim and Mike Ring of Ringbrothers (get it?) saw no reason to let their time and effort go to waste. When they're not building wild customs (see: 1,100-horsepower 1972 AMC Javelin AMX) or more subtle showcases (such as this Cougar or their 1971 K5 Chevy Blazer build from 2018), the folks at Ringbrothers crank out factory reproduction parts, whether for old-fashioned restoration or modification purposes. While '60s muscle cars are recurring build subjects for the two, the Cougar was the first of its kind they tackled. Keeping it in the family, Ringbrothers sourced a Ford 5.0-liter "Coyote" V8 and a 10-Speed Automatic (lifted from an F-150 Raptor, incidentally) for the build. They didn't stop with the driveline, of course. The suspension was overhauled with a little help from DSE and a set of HRE Series C1 C103 Forged 3-Piece wheels were thrown over upgraded brakes. "We put our heart into each car we build, and this Cougar is no exception," Jim said. "The finished product is mild and classy, yet any enthusiast instantly knows it's not stock. I imagine this is what Mercury designers would have come up with if they were building the Cougar today." "While we couldn't bring the car to the SEMA Show, we hope it can be shown to the public soon," Mike said. "We had never done a Cougar before, so this was a fun build. I love working with new shapes and coming up with new ideas." There's plenty to appreciate about this Cougar apart from the mechanicals, too. The finish is Augusta Green Metallic (courtesy of BASF), which was a factory color in 1968. You may know it by another name: Highland Green. There are a few custom exterior touches, but they're quite subtle and styled to be period-correct. The interior was also restored and updated, and it's where you'll find the only thing we're not fond of: that big, fat truck shifter. Gearbox choices notwithstanding, it's a bit of an eyesore. But considering how gorgeous the rest is, we'll give it a pass. Related Video:
Takata air bag recall list
Tue, Dec 9 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
