1969 Ford Mustang Sportsroof/ Fastback Q code 428 Mach 1. This beautiful car originally came
with a 428/ C6 automatic trans, AC, Power Steering, and Power Disc Brakes. This car had sat for 15 years in a
garage in pieces before I bought it. I spent many, many hours bringing this car back to life! The original 428 was
just rebuilt, and the C6 was just rebuilt too. I have the receipts for the work done also! The engine was rebuilt
to factory specs, except that I added a mild Comp cam to it. The car runs like a beast! The motor has about 50
miles on it since the car has been finished. The car has a fresh multi stage paint job, and the color is Acapulco
Blue, and the hood black out treatment was painted on, it's not vinyl. Most of the exterior chrome was replaced,
with a few original pieces being polished up. The interior was redone, pretty much top to bottom. The car came from
AZ, so there is NO RUST on the car. The floors look great, torque boxes, inner fenders, and trunk all look great!
The car still has the original sheet metal, with no signs of ever being in an accident! The car has been garage
kept, and taken to a few events. It's not perfect but, its a beautiful car that was loved!
MARTI REPORT: The report indicates that this car is 1 of only 1280 with the 428/ C6 combination. It was a 428 CJ
car with non Ram Air
Engine/ Trans: The original 428 was rebuilt by a shop here in Las Vegas that has been around for 40 years, and has
a warranty. The trans was rebuilt a few months ago also. The engine was bored .030 over, heads were redone, new
comp cam, all new bearings, lifters, and runs great. The crank was a 1U, Heads were C8OE-N heads, the block has the
C on the back, reinforced mains, and I have pictures of these as the engine was assembled. Under the hood are many
new parts like, new water pump, alternator, fuel pump, starter, Edelbrock Carb, radiator, Optima Battery, brake
master cylinder, and tune up stuff. The original Exhaust Manifolds are on the car also, C8OE Factory Headers, those
cost me a pretty penny and they are in great shape with no defects. The car still has the AC heater box, an
compressor but, the other AC items are not on the car, and were removed before I bought the car. The C6 received a
shift kit, and is sealed up nicely. The trans is not original to the car.
Interior/ Exterior: The interior has new carpet, new sound deadener, new seat upholstery, new door panels, new
dash, new headliner, and looks great! The gauges all work on the car, blinkers work, heater/ AC blower motor works.
New weather stripping on the doors, and roof rail too. New end caps for the doors and quarter panels. The windows
roll up and down correctly, doors shut nicely.
The exterior was just repainted to Acapulco Blue, and looks amazing. It was multiple coats of paint and clear coat
with a wet sand and buff to finish the car off. The wheels and tires are brand new, Torque Thrust 2 wheels with BFG
tires. New bumpers, new windshield, new moldings, new antenna, and a few other small new items. Under the car looks
great with new Flowmaster 40 series exhaust, and the car has the correct rear end housing but, the Nodular 3rd
member was not with the car when I bought it. It has 3:23 gears in the rear, and the pinon seal was replaced after
I had the unit inspected.

Ford 1.0L takes third-straight International Engine of the Year award
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost is proving to be The Little Engine That Could, and it continues to acquit itself well, finding favor as one of the best powerplants in the world. To confirm it yet again, the tiny mill just won the International Engine of the Year award for the third year in a row, likewise also nabbing the title in the Sub 1.0-liter category.
Packing 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque with overboost (125 lb-ft normally), the tiny engine combines impressive power in a size small enough to be a carry-on item for a commercial flight. US buyers only got a taste of the award winner in the 2014 Fiesta, while the 1.0 EcoBoost has been available throughout the Ford lineup in Europe for a few years now. American sales have reportedly been strong, however, and next up in the US, the mill will find its way into the 2015 Focus.
The panel of 82 jury members from 34 countries also named the Mercedes-AMG 2.0-liter turbo found in the A45, CLA45 and GLA45 AMG models with 355 hp and 332 lb-ft as the best New Engine for 2014. The electric powertrain from Tesla won Green Engine prize, and the 4.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia took home the honor of top Performance Engine yet again. You can check out all the winners below, and scroll down further to read Ford's celebratory announcement of its award.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
