1968 Ford Mustang Coupe

1968 Ford Mustang Coupe

6-cylinder-Automatic

We really like these vintage Mustangs, fun to drive and inexpensive to own, these are a real bargain in todays inflated vintage market.

This car came out of California, so it is almost entirely rust free and still wears its vintage Black Plates.

Of course red is an excellent color on these and the paint on this one appears fairly fresh. The interior is in good shape with no bad smells, or major flaws. The motor fires right up, even in freezing temps, does not smoke and sounds healthy. The transmission shifts as it should with no clunking or hesitation going into gear.

I would rate the overall condition of this Mustang as good, it’s not a show car, but it’s plenty nice enough to elicit a smile and thumbs up from any classic car buff. This car runs great and would make an excellent weekend cruiser.

Please look through all the pictures and watch the included video. We make a real effort to show the car to the best of our ability, including underside photos.

Remember, if you bid and win, you will be expected to complete the transaction. Inspections are welcome, PRIOR to the end of the auction.

Feel free to call or email with any questions, 503-475-8078 Josh, 503-819-9007 Matt.

Ford reveals all-new Everest SUV at Asia-Pacific forum [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

While the Explorer may have shifted from a truck-based sport-ute to a car-based crossover, Ford still offers buyers on the other side of the Pacific a Ranger-based SUV in the form of the Everest. And at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Beijing today, the Blue Oval revealed the all-new version you see here.
Previewed in concept form over a year ago and made specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, the new Ford Everest is designed to be more refined on the road and more capable off of it. Like the Explorer once was, the new Everest is based on a stretched version of the overseas Ford Ranger pickup. Depending on the specific market, Ford will offer the new Everest with a range of engines including a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four and two Duratorq turbodiesels - a 2.2-liter four and a 3.2-liter inline-five - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earmarked to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new Everest promises rock-crawlers even better off-road capabilities. It's got nearly nine inches of ground clearance, over 30 inches of wading depth, a 29-degree approach and 25-degree departure angles and a set of features including on-the-fly adjustable four-wheel drive.

70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.
