This is a numbers matching clear title fastback. I bought this car from the original family after the owner had passed away. It was a Lucky Seven Mustang promotion, where in 1965 was put into  the Los Olas Casino as a prize option for hitting the lucky 7 slot numbers and Harold the owner had chosen the car which was a brand new 1965 Mustang Fastback with the 777 in the vin stamp over the $2,000 prize money and kept it basically stored away until his son and then his nephew owned it and used it for 15 years then put it away in storage where it stayed until I purchased it. The fastback is raven black with silver pearl stripes and black interior. The engine is the original 289 C code with a factory 4 speed manual transmition. Drivetrain, Floors, Panels. Radio etc all factory original. The drivers front rail had an area weld due to hitting a cement block underneath over 30 years ago and when restored will need some attention but does not affect the drivability of the car. The floors are very solid amd the

body is very straight. The paint is about a $4,500 job and is a very good drivers quality paint with some flaws as almost all black paint jobs and would benefit greatly from a buffing but looks great as is. It appears in the pictures to have large scratches but that is just reflections there are no significant scratches or dents at all. The car starts right up and has a loud dual exhaust system. The wheels are chrome torque thrusts that have some surface rust that should clean up and tires are about 75%. The engine was also painted along with the engine bay and trunk, which is very solid. The car has been stored for the better part of the last 10 years and could use some tlc to run at its peak, namely a carb rebuild but the brake lines were just done last year along with the starter and solenoid. One could drive as is but should not plan a long trip without thoroughly going through it mechanically first. We spent a good amount getting it up and running but in no way want to guarantee a long drive home! All the glass is original and good, no chips or cracks, the window felt needs to be done and weatherstripping in the trunk should be done also. Basically its a very nice 4 speed fastback that will be an easy restore and should make anyone happy. Where else and when else will you find a factory 4 speed fastback? If you wait you never will. Fastbacks are projected to rise in price and value by 40% over just the next 5 years! Nada (which is a little on the high end) lists this car at a value at $17,800 for a total project to $53,000 totally restored.  This fastback falls somewhere in the middle so is a great value!

This is an amazing investment for a realistic price. I have dozens of pictures so if there is something you want to see please ask before bidding. Good luck!! All bids are binding contracts so only bid if you are serious about buying. We will also be listing its twin (his and hers 65 fast backs) its the same car but an automatic tranny) it's also Raven black and is a good driver. Make an offer on one or even both and we will consider it.  We can help facilitate transport either here or abroad. Thank you and PLEASE only bid if you intend on buying the car. I know there are a lot of dreamers out there but dreamers usually turn into non paying bidders. If you have less than 10 feedback please message us before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. I know the game now, open an eBay account just to ruin someone's auction. We are selling this fastback for a very very reasonable price and have much more into it. The buy it now is only a few hundred more than the reserve so don't wait!!  We want a clean easy sale so any inspections must be done prior to bidding and prior to end of auction. Thanks.

Ford readying dozen+ Mustang models for SEMA

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Ford is unsurprisingly bringing a herd of its new 2015 Mustang models to next month's SEMA show in Las Vegas. Over a dozen of them are arriving from top aftermarket outfits like Galpin Auto Sports, Steeda, Roush and others. The Blue Oval isn't just shining a spotlight on the V8 model, though. The new EcoBoost 2.3-liter version with 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque is also getting its time in the sun.
Among the shined-up ponies will be a showcar helping Galpin celebrate the Mustang's golden anniversary, with the car is covered in the precious metal. The black paint over the body has gold flecks in it, and the wheels, side sills, brake calipers and badges all match, as well. However, it takes more than something shiny to truly impress at SEMA, and Galpin's Mustang also packs a Whipple supercharger for the 5.0-liter V8, boosting the bottom line to 725 horsepower. Take that, Hellcat. There's even a window in the hood to look through, not unlike a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The coupe also wears new headlights with LED turn signals that activate in sequence, just like the taillights, and the interior features black-and-gold Recaro seats.
Also set for its SEMA debut is an MRT showcar that takes the EcoBoost Mustang for a gallop with its TKO treatment. The black and orange two-tone car has been designed to incorporate select road racing elements. Mechanical upgrades include 14-inch brake rotors with new ducts, a Vortech air-to-air intercooler and an Air Lift suspension. The Mustang also shows off the company's products for added style and performance including a hood with integrated heat extractors and a unique front splitter.

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?

Sat, Sep 23 2017

If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
