I am selling my fastback of 12 years ownership which a list of the following upgrades, which when added up will amount to over $20k in costs not to include labor. This car has been used by myself for daily use which would be about 140k miles. Just bought an ERA GT 40 so this one has to go. Up grades are as follows: shelby hood and front valence, 1 1/8" front sway bar, aluminum under drive pully set, 331 stroker, roller cam, edelbrock rpm heads, roller tips, edelbrock air gap intake, 600 cfm carb. JMC motor mounts, pertronics ignitor, total control rack and pinion steering, torque boxes welded in, total control front coil over suspension, bump steer tie rod ends, T 5 trans, hydrolic clutch, Wilwood disc brakes on all fours, stainless steel lines on front brakes, 9" 389 posi a little noisy, 4 link rear coil over suspension, panard rod, led tail lights, 17x8 elenor wheels, BF goodrich G Force radials 5000k miles, Shelby dash pod, humphugger console, Pro car seats, Shelby rear fiber glass in back seat area. Additional parts in cluded: 2 new Dynacorn fenders, doorshells and quarters, complete window regulator set, 3 point seatbelts, Shelby front valence. The motor has about 15k miles on it, developed the typical timing chain cover leak from setting up over the winter. The under carriage and frame rails are rust and wreck free. I would not put this many up grades on a rusty wreck. Howerever the doors and quarters show the usual rust pron areas, hence the new steel. The fenders are good repops, but I went with the Dynacorn for consistency. This car is an exceptionally good handling car, no body roll and the rear stays planted when coming out of the curves, excellent road course car. Needs painting to your tastes to be a $40k plus car. Email for questions . Thanks for looking.

Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.
New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
Weekly Recap: Volkswagen moves forward under Muller
Sat, Sep 26 2015Most stunning was the speed of it all. On the morning of September 18, Volkswagen AG stood atop the automotive world. It was profitable and sold more cars than Toyota and General Motors, its two main rivals for global supremacy. By nightfall, the company would be embroiled in scandal. Revelations the German auto giant cheated on diesel emissions testing in the United States reverberated from Washington to Wolfsburg, Germany. What started out as a problem with 482,000 VWs and Audis in the US exploded into an international scandal. Millions of vehicles have the rigged software, meaning VW broke environmental rules as its cars spewed pollutants all over the world. The fallout began immediately. Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn – one of the most respected and capable executives in the business – apologized on Sunday and Tuesday. On Wednesday he resigned. As the week progressed, the company's stock took a beating and credit agencies threatened to drop their ratings. VW dealers and owners said they felt betrayed. The automaker hired a law firm that defended BP after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The EPA is already extending its testing procedures to look for "defeat devices" like the ones used by Volkswagen. On Friday the company announced a major restructuring. Matthias Muller, Porsche's chief for the last five years, took over as CEO of Volkswagen and is charged with picking up the pieces of a shattered company facing regulatory action and lawsuits. With GM, Toyota, and Takata scandals still fresh, Volkswagen will likely experience unprecedented levels of scrutiny. Additionally, VW's markets in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be combined into a North American region under the leadership of former Skoda boss Winfried Vahland, though US chief executive Michael Horn will stay on. The company is also realigning its brands by specialty and streamlining its board. Firings, government action, restructurings, and international outrage – things that usually build up over months or years – all occurred in about a week. With dizzying speed, Volkswagen's future has changed dramatically. It all happened, it's still happening, so fast.
