1965 Mustang Hot Rod project. I started building this car years ago and used all of the best parts with no stone unturned. I realize my interests have change and I don't think I will ever get to this project so I am listing it for sale. This car is set up as a high end street car that had many of the state of the art hot rod products from about 8-10 years ago. I will list the details in catagories and please feel free to contact me with questions as I am sure I may forget some details.
Frame: Custom build square tube frame designed to fit the perimeter of the body. rear kick up designed around wheels and tires. The wheelbase was lengthened about 4" in the front. chassis is for the most part finished with the exception of some details and welding.
Front suspension: S & W race cars tubular control arms designed around the Mustang II. OEM ford Mustang II spindles, Alden Coil Over shocks, Flaming River Rack & Pinion custom built to track width. Wilwood Disc Brakes with polished billet calipers.
Rear Suspension: Currie polished aluminum 9" housing. 3:50 traction lok rear with Currie 31 spline axles. Wilwood Disc brakes with polished calipers and external parking brake caliper. custom 4 link suspension w/ track bar and Alden coil overs that match the front.
Engine: Fresh professionally rebuilt 428 block with a CJ crank, recon rods, New forged pistons, all ARP fasteners. New Edelbrock RPM 427 heads, RPM intake, and water pump. Hydraulic Crower street cam and non adjustable rockers. This engine was built to be a mild drivable bigblock and it has never been started. No ignition is included, the distributor is just to plug the hole and has nothing inside it.
Transmission: original ford 1969 Toploader correct for a 1969 428 mustang. Big input/ Big output, Hurst Shifter, new Lakewood scattershield, Hays Billet steel flywheel. New Ford Racing Aluminum Drivshaft that was shortened to fit car and needs to welded and balanced. New Repro 428 CJ clutch fork. NO CLUTCH

New repro trunk corners installed and piece between decklid and back glass. really solid original doors. Also included is original inner shell and New repro door skins. Nice solid original front and rear bumpers off of rust free california car. Front headlight buckets are correct 64 1/2 but will need to be replaced, nice original headlight doors. Car still has metal work to be done but the bulk of the heavy stuff is finished. All side glass and regulators included. Original windshield and back glass but windshield has a chip. Nice original deck lid not yet mounted.
Wheels & Tires: Budnik Fontana wheels 15 X 6" in the front and 17 X 11" in the rear. The tires are New BFgoodrich 195/60-15 and 275/60-17. I have 3 center caps for the wheels but I believe one of them has been damaged. They should still be available from budnik.
This car is a project the I have spent about $25,000.00 in car and parts alone. I did all of the work on it and I will be glad to answer any questions you have. My reserve is way less than I have invested in parts alone. Please contact thru ebay or call Jim 865-805-9381. I would consider selling the car as a roller without the engine, trans, flywheel, and scattershield if it doesn't meet reserve.

Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.
Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.
Ford S-Max Concept proves minivans aren't always minivans [w/video]
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Ford's latest don't-call-it-a-minivan is called the S-Max Concept, and it's a looker. As you can see, the conceptual overgrown hatch makes good use of Ford's latest design language, especially at the very front of the S-Max, which bears a striking resemblance to production models that include the Focus, C-Max and Fusion.
Powering the S-Max Concept is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and while Ford doesn't actually list power figures for the concept, previous estimates put the mill at 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet). Inside, there's room for seven passengers and at least some of their luggage.
As you'd expect, the S-Max is loaded up with all of Ford's latest infotainment technology, including Sync and MyFordTouch. More interestingly, there are also onboard heart and blood glucose monitors that we doubt will be seeing the light of production anytime soon. On that topic, don't expect to see any S-Max-shaped vehicles hitting the US market from Ford, either. Scroll down below for the press release, but not before checking out the high-res image gallery above.
