Today up for bids is a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback.  First off I apologize to anyone bidding on the last auction.  I mentioned I had an engine also for sale and ebay pulled the ad.  My goal was to make this into a Shelby GT350 Clone.  This car was originally equipped with a 289 2V and stick transmission.  I cannot verify whether this car was a 4 speed or 3 speed because the door tag is missing.  There are a lot of extra parts that come with the car.  Most of the original Fold Down parts are there (All that is missing is the trap door and big interior panels).  I took these out of another car.  Also included is a Shelby style rear seat delete.  The rear glass is really nice along with surrounding trim.  The car is going to need alot of body panels (see pictures).  All pieces needed are readily available through major Mustang suppliers like NPD or Mustangs Unlimited.  There is a clear title included with the car.  All of the extra parts pictured are included in the sale.  There is also a brand new windshield included which is not pictured.  The drivers side door is off of a coupe and you are going to need to find a fastback door glass for that side.  The extra side louvers have extremely nice chrome inserts (almost impossible to find.)  The headliner is missing.  The Rear Axle is an 8 inch posi trac.  There are 4.11 gears in it. This would make a great start to a Shelby Clone or other custom project.  The car is located in Wonewoc, WI, which is about 50 miles north of Madison.  I also have 2 other 1965 Mustangs (1 4speed Coupe, 1 rust free Califoria Coupe) on ebay currently for sale.  Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

2014 Ford Fusion order guide reveals new base Hybrid model, equipment changes

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

We've gotten our grubby little digits on the dealer order guide for the as-yet-unreleased 2014 Ford Fusion thanks to an anonymous tipster, and while there isn't much that's unexpected, there are some meaningful equipment changes to report after the rakish sedan's first year on the market.
Mechanically, the big news is, of course, the recently confirmed availability of the 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder paired with a six-speed automatic. The powertrain replaces the 1.6-liter automatic setup of 2013, though if you want a manual transmission, you'll still get the extra .1-liter of displacement.
On the equipment front, there are newly available rear inflatable seatbelts - as seen previously on the Explorer - along with a new heated steering wheel and cooled seat option on Titanium and Titanium Hybrid models (the latter two options will be late availability).

Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.

Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes

Sun, 29 Dec 2013

Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Be sure to check out the Gilmore Car Museum's website or visit them on Facebook for more info.
