Thanks for looking, this is the one of the nicest 65' Ford Mustang on eBay! This gorgeous Blue-Tone White pony is originally from Dearborn,MI and spent its life in the dry climate. The outrageous color combo on this mustang really sets it apart from the rest. The gorgeous 2 tone blue/white pony interior on this mustang really gives it a killer eye appeal!!

This convertible pony comes highly optioned with things such as a powerful and fresh A Code 289 V8 paired to a smooth C-4 automatic transmission, power steering, power top, dual bowl brake cylinder, interior console, bucket seats, fully upgraded deluxe interior, 2 tone pony interior, factory rally wheels, brand new white wall radials, the list goes on and on.

The interior of this car is an easy 8 out of 10. The only exception to perfection is very minor fading on the top of the driver seat back and a small seam split on the driver seat bottom. All seating surfaces great as well as the carpet and dash. The white canvas top on this car has recently been replaced and is in like-new condition.

This pony was repainted about 15 years ago and was a very, very nice paint job, but does have very minor chips here and there that have been touched up. The car can be easily driven as is but for a perfect 10 car it could use a repaint. The factory exterior trim does have  very minor pitting in areas such as the grill corral and the outer boot trim, but it is very hard to notice unless you are looking for it. Pics available upon request.

Mechanically, this mustang is sound. All mechanical and electrical components are in fine working order and this car is ready to drive ANYWHERE you desire. The engine has been fully refreshed and runs like a dream with ZERO signs of overheating or leaking. All lights function as they should. Tires and brakes are in good functioning condition. Fluids have all been replaced.

The metal work on this mustang is about as solid as it gets. Pictures tell the story, the underside appears to be original and in great condition. Frame rails, floor boards, and shock towers are all in good, solid original condition. Not "show" but good original condition.

To sum it up, this is a fine example of American Muscle History. This pony is ready to show or go!! International bidders welcome. Inspections are welcome and encouraged, but , by appointment only. Call today with any questions. 305-525-1731

Ford family keeps special voting rights

Fri, 10 May 2013

Ford Motor Company has a dual-class stock structure of Class A and Class B shares. The roughly three billion Class A shares are for the general public like you and me, while the roughly 71 million Class B shares are all owned by the Ford family. Each Class A share gets the shareholder one vote, each Class B share is worth 16 votes, the result being that Common Stock holders control about 60 percent of the company while the Ford family controls 40 percent even though it holds far fewer shares. The only way that could ever change would be if the Fords sell their Class B shares, but even so, Class B shares revert to Class A when sold outside the family, so they'd have to sell a whole bunch of them.
A contingent of Class A shareholders think the dual-class system is unfair, and for the past few years a vote's been held during the annual shareholders meeting to end it. It has failed every time, as it just did again during the meeting held this week. A smidge over 33 percent voted to end the dual system, outvoted by the 67 percent who are happy with the way Ford is going - unsurprising in view of a corporate turnaround that will be part of business-class curricula for years to come.
On the sidelines, Ford elected Ellen R. Marram to the post of independent director, the first woman to hold the job. The former Tropicana CEO and 20-year Ford board member replaces retiring board member Irvine Hockaday who helped bring Alan Mulally to the CEO position.

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers

Sun, Mar 29 2015

As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. Ford to pay $17.35 million over Escape recall

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Ford had a bit of a recall spree around this time last year, with a pair of issues on the then-new 2013 Escape, followed by a recall of 423,000 2001 to 2004 Escapes because they might accelerate of their own accord. Accordingly, Uncle Sam pasted Ford with a $17.35 million fine because it took too long to inform customers, according to a report from Automotive News.
Ford agreed to settle with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accepting the fine but not admitting fault. The recall, which afflicted Escapes with the 3.0-liter V-6 along with 217,000 Mazda Tributes from 2001 to 2006 and 2008, was due to faulty gas pedals that could stay down after a driver removed their foot.
Ford issued a statement regarding the fine, saying, "We take the safety of our customers seriously and continuously evaluate our processes for improvements. While we are confident in our current processes for quickly identifying and addressing potential vehicle issues, Ford agreed to this settlement to avoid a lengthy dispute with the government."
