ENGINE: Chevy 350 4-bolt main factory crate motor (runs on regular fuel), Edelbrock aluminum intake and 600 cfm 4 bbl carb with electric choke, Sanderson ceramic coated headers with internal baffles (attention getting sound but no too loud), HEI ignition, polished aluminum radiator with 16" electric fan. Chrome: valve covers, alternator, drive pulleys, oil dip stick, fuel pump and starter.

TRANS: TH350 GM 3-sp automatic, Lokar shifter, deep aluminum pan, trany cooler, and chrome dip stick.

BODY: Fiberglass with door on right side, full interior and carpet, Omega electric gauges, tinted windshield with chrome frame and chrome mirrors, third brake light, headlights, turn signals, 4-way flashers, and horn.

CHASSIS: Pro-built powder coated frame and suspension, 10.5" front disc brakes with Airheart aluminum calipers, Posie Super Glide chrome front springs, chrome front and rear shocks, dual master brake cylinder with adjustable proportioning valve, braided stainless steel brake hoses, chrome headlight buckets, chrome tie rod, powder coated rear springs, 9" Ford rear axle with 11" drum brakes, 13.5 gal steel fuel tank.

TIRES: Yokohama 225/65R17 and 305/50R20

WHEELS: Boss (American Eagle) 17x8 and 20x10

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.

Ford recalling nearly 5,700 2014 F-150s for power steering issue

Ford is recalling 5,675 of its 2014 F-150 pickups over an issue with the electric power steering system. There haven't been any injuries or accidents due to the issue.
Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Autoblog that the "electric power-assisted steering and motor position sensor gear were incorrectly installed by a supplier," leading to the recall.
While the recall is larger on the surface, it's important to note that only 260 trucks have been delivered to customers. The remaining pickups are currently en route to dealers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 26 and June 19.
