1923 Ford Model TT Six Post Huckster. This rare, original bodied Model TT truck was just removed from an estate where it had been carefully preserved for the last sixty years. When we purchased this truck, we rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new gas line, cleaned the gas tank, installed new spark plugs and wires, and the engine started right up for the first time in many decades. Although we have not driven the truck, the engine sounds great with no unusual noises or smoke.The chassis is complete and intact with solid original wood wheels which have new Coker tires and tubes on the rear and good, usable tires ont the front. The chassis components such as the steering, suspension, etc show typical signs of wear and it appears that this truck was well cared for making it a survivor in good original unrestored condition. The original wood body is complete with all of its proper hardware and, shows the expected signs of wear and aging, although is generally solid. Included in the sale is a copy of the 1949 title in previous owners name. This rare truck can be mechanically serviced and used as-is or would be a great display item. Model T trucks with their original wood bodies are extremely scarce and are highly sought after by vintage Ford and vintage truck collectors. Payment due five days after close of auction. Ford invests $682 million in Edge-producing Canadian facility
Sun, 22 Sep 2013Ford announced that it's investing $682 million in its Oakville assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, to make it a global manufacturing plant, which the automaker also says secures 2,800 jobs there. Including this injection of cash, Ford has invested over $2 billion in Canada in the last decade, starting with nearly $1 billion for Oakville in 2004, and over $570 million for its Essex Engine Plant in 2010.
The move to make Oakville a global manufacturer of Ford vehicles means, "If consumers suddenly shift their buying habits, we can seamlessly change our production mix without having to idle a plant," says Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas.
Ford says that the latest investment will help it meet North American demand for the Oakville-produced Edge crossover, which is on track this year to beat 2007's US sales record of 130,000 Edges. The Ford Flex and Lincoln MKX and MKT are also manufactured at the plant.
Ford books $2.6B pretax quarterly profit
Thu, 24 Jul 2014While its crosstown competitors at General Motors are smarting over a drastic drop in net income to $200 million in the second quarter, Ford has reason to celebrate. The Blue Oval has announced its own Q2 financial results, including a growing net income of $1.3 billion, a $78 million increase over last year. Pretax profits for the company reached $2.6 billion, up $44 million from 2013, but total revenue dropped slightly to $37.4 billion, down from $37.9 billion. Profits per share before one-time charges totaled 40 cents per share, beating Wall Street analysts' expectations of 36 cents a share.
Regionally, the Blue Oval performed strongly, as well. North America posted a record quarterly pre-tax profit of $2.4 billion, a $119 million increase. Europe also showed signs of turn around with its first profit in three years of $14 million after a loss of $306 million in Q2 2013. Ford is actually predicting profitability in the troubled region in 2015. Asia Pacific operations also performed well with $159 million in profits, up $29 million from last year. The only region where the business posted a loss was South America.
According to Automotive News, Ford also announced more precise plans about the changeover to build the aluminum-intensive 2015 F-150. In August, the Dearborn plant will shutdown for eight weeks to retool and its Kansas City plant will do the same next year.
