1920 Ford Model T Traveler, a Lincoln Highway Tribute Car
"A Modern Prairie Schooner"
![photo IMG_1200.jpg]() ![photo IMG_1225.jpg]() ![photo IMG_1224.jpg]() ![photo IMG_1223.jpg]() ![photo IMG_1222.jpg]() ![photo IMG_1221.jpg]() Fast440 is pleased to offer this amazing re-creation of Intercontinental Highway Automotive History. A Tribute to the Lincoln Highway, when Highways were Mud Bogs, and Triple A was nothing more than the generosity of a kind Farmer with pack of Mules if you got stuck. This 1920 Ford Model T was the Brain Child of a talented Draftsman and wood worker, and It's creation was based on his family's fascinating history of a coast -to-coast voyage in 1919. New York to San Francisco in a thing like this ? Forward thinking back then, and pretty much your only option other than travel by Train, Wagon or Horseback. A man, his wife, his Son and an old Dog crossed the United States in a machine just like this one. Procuring an old Pigeon House from a farmer in 1919, it was modified and repaired, and fitted to the Chassis of a 1919 Ford Model A, and off they went across the United States, and the Wife's daily journal documents the experience. We can can go on forever with the accumulated history that goes with the sale. All hand crafted, workmanship and attention to detail shows everywhere. Chassis and Drive Train rebuilt, and this is a relaible driver as far as a Model T Goes. Built with the passion of family history and it shows. Countless hours of imagination and effort here. The intention was to take this vehicle by Trailer to Lincoln Highway Memorial Association gatherings along this still existing Highway. So much information, and so hard to describe. A wonderful show piece for your collection, or a powerful display and advertising tool for your business. Your Company Logo here.

Thank you, Fast440/Brent.

Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T. Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story." The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.

The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a very capable truck right out of the box, but "capable" has never translated into "invincible." Just ask the owner of the machine in this video. In it, the driver gets frisky with an aggressive jump with plenty of speed on his hands. The result is enough air to make Vaughn Gittin Jr. blush. As always, it's not the launch that's painful, but the re-entry. Gravity eventually asserts its dominance over the $43,630 pickup in a big way, and when it comes crashing down, it does so with a vengeance. The impact was hard enough to set off both the alarm and multiple airbags inside the cabin. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the stunt, but we certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear that was the case. You can check out the stunt in the video below, and remember, when in doubt, back out of the throttle. Be warned, there may be some explicit/NSFW language in the clip. UPDATE: Second video added with an even better look at the jump added below.

Alan Mulally will not be following his successful term as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company with a run at an even bigger presidency. Rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would make a run at the White House sprouted after his apparent dodging of a reporter's questions about a potential candidacy during a forum in Indianapolis. "I really think it's important that we all pull together. We really need to pull together around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together. We really need to do it," Mulally said at the conference, according to The Detroit News. He's since clarified by saying, "[I'm] honored at the suggestion, but that is not a role I am considering."
