Ford Model T 1925 Touring on 2040-cars
Oxford, Mississippi, United States
This auction is for A ford Model T. The engine ID number is 10967665 which indicates it is a 1925 model. I don't know much about model T's and I will describe it the best I can. The driver door opens and it has a cowl opening which indicates it is a 1926 or 27. The running boards, Gas tank located under the seat and fenders indicate it is a 1925 or earlier. I don't know exactly what year it is but it looks to be a 1925 chassis and fenders with maybe a 1926 body. I am just speculating. I was told it was a running car when it was driven into a basement 20 years ago. It has been sitting for the last 20 years and has not been driven or started in this time period. E-Bay requires a mileage entry but I have no idea of the mileage. The car seems to be complete and the only thing I can determine is missing is the long steel rods for the emergency brakes, the radiator cap, vinyl top, spare tire and rim and I am sure other items I don't know about. The body and chassis have very minimal rust. What rust is there seems to be just surface rust. The body looks to be very solid. The motor does turn over with the hand crank so it is not frozen up. I have not tried to start the car. The wooden wheels are in poor condition and the tires are not useable in any way. The seat springs are in good condition but the interior door panels are in poor condition. The top frame looks to be solid and complete. The windshield frame looks to be solid and complete with glass. It can be moved around fairly easy for transport. The reserve is set very low and the car will sell. It is sold on a Bill of Sale only. I have the Bill of Sale where I purchased the car and will also include a Bill of Sale from me to the winning bidder. I can deliver the car within a 300 mile range for $2.50 per mile one way otherwise winning bidder is responsible for shipping although I will assist with the loading of the car. The car is in a safe location and can be stored here for a reasonable amount of time while arrangements are made for no charge. There is no warranty for this car. I require a $250.00 non refundable deposit within 72 hours of sale date and a bank wire transfer or cash for the remaining balance within 7 days. I encourage anyone interested to look at he car in person or have someone look at the car before purchase. Please feel free to call with any questions. My number is 662-816-8280 and my name is Mike.

Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Ford Explorer is America's new favorite police car
Mon, 24 Mar 2014There is a new vehicle that you should keep an eye out for when you're going a little too fast down the Interstate. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility was the bestselling new law enforcement model in the country last year, and signs show that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ford sold 14,086 Interceptor Utilities in 2013, up 140% from the year before, and 10,897 Interceptor Sedans, up 31%, according to USA Today. Overall, the brand's police sales were up 48 percent, and they were enough to boost the company's law enforcement vehicle market share by 9 points to nearly 50 percent.
The success comes just a few years after it made the decision to finally retire the long-serving Crown Victoria-based cruiser for two more modern vehicles. "We had to reinvent the category," said Chris Terry of Ford Communications to Autoblog. The automaker had to convince police departments that a unibody chassis without a V8 could perform better than a model that had been a law enforcement staple for years.
Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
