Up for auction is a neat little Model-T Roadster. This car was built in the early 80's by a talented builder who wanted his own a version of a car he had seen in an early 50's hot rod magazine (included in sell). In 1951 Johnny Cunningham built a very cool full fendered T that had a chopped windshield and cut down 1936 Ford Truck grille. It retained the original turtle deck and used 1934 Ford wire wheels with big and little tires. This car is an updated version of the Cunningham T. Since the car was built in the 1080's, there have not been many changes, owning to the quality and style of the original build. This is a finished car that needs nothing to enjoy right now. Just bump the key and go.

Body:

It is a high quality early fiberglass T roadster body built by So-Cal. It has a functioning passenger door to ease getting in and out. The turtle deck and fenders are also fiberglass. They are very thick, high quality components. The fenders have steel tubing under them for support. The running boards are steel and are functional. They are supported by steel connection to the frame. The hood and side curtins are steel and handmade, while the grille is an original 1936 Ford truck grille that was chopped 1/4. The paint on the coar is from it's original build in the 80's and is showing some age. there are a few chips and blemishes, but it adds to the charm and character of the car. There are lots of neat little details to this car, such as the original Guide headlights to the tail light brackets that are made from Model-A lug wrenches. There is some clean modest pin-striping on the rear tail pan. The letter B on the number represents the class the early 50's hot rodders would use at the Bonnivelle salt flats for a normaly asperated 6 cylinder.

Chassis:

This car is built on a handmade rectangular tube chassis. It uses transverse springs front and rear. The front axle is an un-dropped Model A unit using Model A brakes with a very thick hydraulic wheel cylinder conversion. The rear axle is a Ford 8" that is held in place by front 30's style wishbones that have been reinforced and inverted. Keeping with the traditional theme of the build the front of the car used Houdaille lever action shocks and an F-100 steering box. For rolling stock, it uses 1935 Ford 16" wire wheels with Coker Firestone tires. 7.00x16 rear and 4.50x16 fronts giving it a nice rubber rake. Its sits low and cool.

Drive Train:

Since it was a must to have a hood on this car, a compact 2.6Lt. V6 was chosen for motivation. It is backed by a 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst linkage. This drive train is super reliable, exhaust has two glass packs, giving the car a great sound that turns heads. It has a 10 gallon fuel tank and gets excellent fuel economy. The four speed transmission makes the car  a blast to drive. Its will run highway speeds, but don't expect it to set any records in the 1/4 mile. This is a get out and cruise the Parks, Beaches, strips kind of car, Its just flat out Cool...

Interior:

The interior has a two-tone vinyl done in tuck and roll. It was done several years ago, and shows some age, but is still very presentable and comfortable, No tears. It seats 2 adults comfortably. the functioning door makes it easy to get in and out of. the dash is wood adn uses all  Stewart Warner instruments including a working tach and speedometer. This T is a bare bones hot rod and does not have A/C, Heat, or a radio. I am 6'2"  220# with a 35" inseam (long legs) and fit just fine behind the wheel.

This car has been on the road for several years and has had all the bugs worked out of it. It is a no excuses traditional hot rod that gathers a crowd every place it goes. The car needs nothing to enjoy right now, you can jump in and drive this car anywhere. It runs great and gets great fuel mileage. It is priced to sell fast. It would be a great car for anyone looking to get into the car hobby or someone who wants something really unique for their collection. Car has a clear Florida title and titled as a 1985.

2015 Ford Mustang prototype spotted on the street

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Our trusty spy photographers have snapped the first photos of the 2015 Ford Mustang prototype out on public streets. With nearly every square inch of the machine covered in heavy camouflage, it's difficult to discern details, but we can see smallish horizontal headlamps at work in the coupe's nose. Ford has made it clear that modern lighting technology will allow the company to get away from large, expensive headlamp arrays in the near future, and the 2015 Mustang may very well be the first of the automaker's products to bow with the new tech. The philosophy was first displayed on the very attractive Evos Concept.
The extensive cladding doesn't extend all the way to the prototype's rockers in the instance, giving us a look at the heavily-sculpted sills. Overall, this test car looks considerably smaller than the current generation Mustang, and elements like a short front overhang and beefy dual-piston calipers give us plenty of hope for the future model. Of course, reports that the 2015 Mustang will bow with an independent rear suspension and EcoBoost power certainly don't hurt our feelings, either.

Ford Recalls '13 Escape For 11th Time

Fri, Aug 15 2014

Only in dealer showrooms for two years now, the 2013 Ford Escape has already been recalled for safety hazards 11 times. The most recent recall for the beleaguered vehicle came Friday, when the company announced it was recalling almost 160,000 Escapes and Focus ST hatchbacks from the '13 and '14 model years because of a wiring problem that could cause the engine to stall. Caused by a faulty wiring harness, Ford said the defect could result in reduced power, hesitation or outright stalling. The company said it knew of no crashes or injuries caused by the flaw. Customers affected will be notified by mail. It was the latest problem for a vehicle beset by recalls from the moment it started rolling off the assembly lines. Starting on July 6, 2012, the '13 Escapes have been recalled for an assortment of problems, including multiple hazards with fuel lines that could result in engine fires, fluid leaks in the engine that could also result in fires, problems with engines overheating, delays in airbags deploying and more. Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
