1930 Ford Model A 2 door hot rod. This is a factory steel body on what looks to be a aftermarket frame assy. It has a front I beam with a transverse leaf spring with aluminum shocks and the rear is ladder bar with coil-overs. It has a Chevy 350 motor with AFR heads and a th350 transmission and a Continental converter. Motor starts right up and runs good, it has a big Edelbrock single plane manifold with a Holley carb. probably makes about 400HP. Drivetrain has about 10k miles on it The rear end is a ford 8" with posi. Front disc and rear drum with a parking brake. The wheels are torque thrusts. Tires are good. It has headers with side pipes. It has a factory style radiator with a electric fan. The interior has a roll bar in it that is tucked up to the roof with lots of head room. There is a diagonal bar for the roll bar that is removable that is not in the pictures. Has 2 bucket seats and a complete compliment of gauges inside. Radio with a CD player and power antenna.  Car is a little loud to listen to the radio.  It still has the pop out window in the front. Brake master is mounted under the floor and the car was recently rewired. The color is a charcoal grey and has some dark purple pin stripping. There is also engine side covers that come with it. Side covers are seen in one picture and have a cut out for the exhaust in them. The covers are a little scratched up from sitting on a shelf and one has a good sized chip in the paint. I never run them on the car.  Car is a driver and has a couple of chips and scratches on it along with a few bubbles in the paint. Rear window does not move, but both side window work and are manual crank.  There are more picture available, just email any requests. Has current tags and is registered as a 1930 ford. U.S.-Mexico border congestion is complicating automakers' lives

Sun, Oct 15 2023

No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, there’s no denying that the U.S. has some significant challenges at its southern border. The droves of people attempting to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S. have complicated trade between the two countries as border authoritiesÂ’ limited resources and increasing political scrutiny have made it difficult to move goods. While that will have an impact on the prices of several consumer goods, it will also slow vehicle and parts shipments needed to keep the U.S. auto industry running. Automotive News reported that the Texas border has been particularly slow, as the state has implemented new screening measures for illegal crossings and drugs. That extra effort has had a severe impact on border logistics, to the point that Bloomberg estimated 19,000 trucks and $1.9 billion in cargo were stranded in Mexico waiting to cross. Officials said the delays have created wait times of up to 24 hours and a line of trucks 14 miles long. The delays will likely have a noticeable impact on the U.S. auto industry. Mexico manufactures millions of cars each year, the majority of which end up here. Nissan, General Motors, Stellantis and others have noted slight delays, but thereÂ’s little wiggle room for the Big 3 while the UAW strike rages on. Should the strike end, slowness at the border would make it difficult to ramp up production and make up for lost time. There have been some promising signs in recent times, such as the Bridge of the Americas between El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, reopening after a three-week closure. Still, the challenges created by border congestion have led some to take drastic measures. A few manufacturers have begun flying parts over the border, while General Motors noted that it was shipping components “on a limited basis” by sea. Related Video:

Autoblog Video: Looking back on the 1965 Shelby GT350

Mon, Aug 17 2015

The first Shelby GT350 Mustang came out a year after the first Ford Mustang, a collaboration between the carmaker and Carroll Shelby bent on making the Mustang a race winner. Perhaps even better than the car is Shelby's story behind its creation, when Ford chairman Lee Iaccoca gave him the "impossible job" of turning "a secretary's car... into a sports car." Shelby and his cohorts got that job done immediately, taking three SCCA B-Class national championships. The latest Ford Shelby GT350 is coming a year after the latest Mustang's debut, and it's certainly got the specs on paper to look like a track monster, especially in GT350R form. This year the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350 Mustang, and the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance featured the car in a special category. We took the opportunity to look at what makes the old GT350 so special, and why the new one stays true to the legendary name. Check it out in the video above. Related Video:

Ford unveils all-new 2016 F-650 and F-750 at NTEA

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

Medium-duty work trucks might not be the most exciting vehicles, but they perform necessary jobs everyday. Ford is in the process of a complete refresh of its entire commercial vehicle lineup over the next 18 months, and it is debuting the all-new versions of its F-650 and F-750 trucks at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, IN.
"The all-new F-650/F-750 allow us to leverage our strengths and sales leadership in Classes 1 to 5 to create a better F-650/F-750 that's designed, engineered and built by Ford in the USA," said Ford spokesperson Mike Levine to Autoblog via email.
Huge amounts of torque is vital for trucks like these, and both models are offered with some of Fords biggest engines. Buyers can opt for either the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel with TorqShift 6-speed automatic with available power takeoff or a gasoline-fueled 6.8-liter V10 with a 6-speed automatic. The V10 can also be ordered from the factory to be fueled by compressed natural gas or liquid propane gas.
