For Sale 1931 Ford Street Rod. She is all original steel with the exception of the front fenders, which are fiberglass. Original grill shell and light bar. High-end build with all the right items, I’ll list out everything possible below, but I know I will forget things. ALL Ford drivetrain as well, which is rare to see and more valuable!!

All pictures were taken within the past week. I took many of them inside my garage without the sun glare to illustrate how straight and true all the body panels are. There are no waves or dents in the sheet metal, just a mirror finish paint job. If you would like any specific picture, please let me know and I will take it. I can also send you a link to a photo album which has more pictures, including some that were taken during the build of just the frame.

I have nearly every receipt and manual associate with everything on this car, including the original 35mm pictures that were taken during the build. The restoration was done in 2003/2004 and I purchased it from the original owner who commissioned the build.

I’m sure I’ve missed things, if you have questions please just ask. I tried to remember all of the features on this car as I was going through the paperwork. This is a very nice car, built well with all high quality things. She handles beautifully going down the road, and has fantastic power and torque. The only reason I am considering swapping out is because I really want a 32-34 Ford or a Resto-Mod Pickup. I’m motivated to trade if the deal and build is done right

This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks contact me before bidding or I may cancel your bid.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Ford Explorer gets appearance pack for 2015

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Remember when Ford launched the totally new Explorer in late 2010, and people were skeptical about how the now-crossover would fare, after ditching its traditional SUV roots? Well, we're several years in, and I think we can assuredly say that Ford made the right decision. Sales are better than ever (in fact, May was the current Explorer's best month yet), and the crossover is finding its way into the hands of a whole host of new Ford buyers.
A wholly refreshed Explorer is still forthcoming, but to keep its strong-selling crossover fresh, Ford is offering a host of improvements for the 2015 model year, including the attractive appearance package available on the XLT trim level, pictured above. Outside, the pack gets you goodies like 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, black bodyside cladding and roof rack rails. Contrasting Magnetic Metallic accents are found on the grille, mirror caps and liftgate appliqué, and there's an "Explorer" hood badge and body-colored door handles. Inside, there are new Miko suede inserts in the seats, and the package includes the automaker's Sync connectivity with MyFord Touch infotainment.
Elsewhere in the Explorer range, the Class III trailer tow pack is now standard on the Sport, base models get new 18-inch aluminum wheels, and there are three new colors on offer: Bronze Fire Metallic and Magnetic Metallic.

Jay Leno is far beyond driven in his 1971 Pantera

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

Perhaps it's fitting that the band Pantera is known for its heavy metal music, because the DeTomaso Pantera is the automotive equivalent of a metal album. It's short, aggressive and makes a mean sound. It doesn't mess around either, with a Ford 351-cubic-inch (5.75-liter) V8 sending mountains of torque to the rear wheels. This week, Jay Leno takes us on a detailed tour of his '71 to show why it rocks.
There's a regular format to Jay Leno's Garage. It starts with Jay and maybe a guest taking a look at the car and talking about its history, and then they take it out on the open road. However, this video is practically a Pantera buyer's guide. Jay is adamant from the start that the last thing anyone should own is a stock example. To remedy this, he and his guest, the editor of the Pantera Club magazine, take viewers to school about some of the ways to turn them into even better performance machines.
No matter what you do to it, though, the Pantera requires that the driver adapt to it, not the other way around. For example, Jay isn't a big guy by most standards, but he has to cram himself into the cockpit with his shoes off and shirt partially unbuttoned just to go for a drive. Still, once out on the road, it all makes sense with that rumbling V8 and those Italian supercar looks. Scroll down to watch and learn a lot more about this uncompromising '70s performance car.
