Here is a beautiful 1930 Ford Roadster, Custom built by the owner with alot of attention to details, the Frame is a stock 1930 Model A frame completely reconditioned, A Steel Brookville Roadster body was installed, Front axle is a 4" drop axle. The Engine is a 32B Built by Schwalms speed in Stroudsburg PA Rated at 70HP, Engine build sheet is included.Engine has a Thomas Finned aluminum manifold, with a Zepher intake, Dual Reds headers, Dual Stromberg 81 carbs, with Thomas finned valve cover, Electric fuel pump and a new Walker radiator.Trans is a Ford 3 speed with a 1931 Ford rear with a 3;45 to 1 ratio, brakes are drum from a 46-48 Ford with 1940 drums, Steering box is a 1946 to 1948 ford 1/2 ton pickup. Paint is John Deere Blitz Black. Headlights are aftermarket sealed beam with 1938-1939 Nos ford tail lights. Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too. Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.
