Finished in Chicle Drab Body Color with Black Fenders, The body is a Brookville Extened body which makes it very nice for bigger people to fit into the truck. The original body is very very tight to get into which most people do not realize. This also has the adjustable seat which gives plenty of leg room. New Le Baron-Bonney folding top, seats and interior. It sports the louvered hood. It has the fun Sparton "OOGAH" horn, scripted Ford tailgate All running gear is original. The motor has been recently rebuilt. The Transmission is in great running shape the Clutch/Pressure Plate/Throw Out Bearing and U Joints are all new. New Cast Iron hubs, with new races and bearings. Many parts were powder coated for appearance and their anti-rust qualities. There were very few of these attractive, adaptable commercial vehicles that were built and their survival rate is extremely small, making this superbly restored and presented example particularly rare. Ford Fiesta ST in startling track battle against Toyota GT86
Wed, 26 Jun 2013On the surface, there's very little that the Ford Fiesta ST and Toyota GT86 (or the Scion FR-S that is sold in the US, or the largely similar Subaru BRZ) share in common. One is a hatchback with power coming from a turbocharged engine routed to the front wheels. The other is a coupe with power coming from a naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine routed to the rear wheels.
Thing is, both of them are reasonably priced performance cars aimed at a similar segment of the automotive marketplace, so a comparison isn't out of the question. It is with all of this in mind that we direct you to the video below, in which the blokes from Evo pit the two manic little machines against one another on a race track. The result? Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too.
