1930 FORD MODEL A DELUXE ROADSTER This automobile was recently purchased from a private collection, the car has been in the collection for over 20 years. The gentlemen bought this car several years ago and had it completely restored in the 1990's. This was a complete original straight car before its restoration. Professional body off frame, ground up restoration done in the 1990's. This automobile has been meticulously cared for since its restoration and has been used very little over the years. SHEET METAL/ PAINT: All original Henry Ford sheet metal, stunning body, no signs of patch panels. Paint is excellent: has a few minor nicks and scratches, but not very many considering how long this car has been done. Paint is not all chipped in normal places (around door hinges, hood hinges, rumble seat lid, etc.) for a car that has been done this long, refer to pictures. Hood alignment is great, doors open/ shut great/ rumble lid open and closes great. All chrome/ stainless is in great shape (bumpers, windshield, hub caps, stone guard, radiator shell, etc.). This car looks like it just rolled off the show room floor. CHASSIS: Motor completely professionally rebuilt, runs excellent, lots of power, all new babbitt bearings, very clean and detailed nice, new radiator. Frame is excellent, underneath of car is very clean- and shinny- refer to pictures. Hard to find shocks are on the car and in great working order. Brakes were recently completely gone through- new linings, hubs turned, pins/ roller replaced as needed, and front brake floaters installed. Car stops great! Front wheel bearings cleaned and repacked, new seals on rear drums installed. Recently new leakless water pump with aluminum fan installed. Firestone white wall tires with correct steel stem inner tubes. Car is ready to go. UPOLISTRY: LeBaron Bonny interior professionally installed during restoration. Correct beautiful brown seats and door panels, pockets in kick panels in cowl, rumble seat in great shape, nice matching rug in front and correct rubber mat in rumble seat floor. Top is slightly faded, but has no rips or tears, have top boot and all side curtains. Side curtains are in great shape and have all irons necessary to use them. ACCESSORIES: Chrome luggage rack, dual side mount, windwings, directional lights, running board step plates, stone guard, two tail lights, side mirror, exhaust manifold heater. All lights work, directionals have been added for safety, generator charges strong, gas gauge works. (NOTE: The pictures show the passenger side windwing is missing, the windwing was cracked, so I took it off and dropped it off at the local glass shop to have a new one cut; this will be fixed by the end of the week.) Mustang pinball game will feature art by Ford GT designer
Fri, 13 Dec 2013To celebrate 50 years of Mustang, Ford and Stern Pinball are collaborating on a new pinball machine that will feature the muscle car in all its glory, Polygon reports. Even better, Camilo Pardo, the guy who designed the Ford GT, will provide art for the table; Tanner Foust, Top Gear USA host and professional driver, will handle narrating duties; and a Sony Music soundtrack spanning five decades will provide the tunes.
"The Mustang is one of the most iconic, American cars ever made... What better way to celebrate 50 years of Mustang than with the launch of the Ford Mustang pinball game?" says Stern Pinball CEO Gary Stern.
Watch the promotional trailer for the upcoming Mustang pinball machine below, which will have to hold you over until pricing and availability are announced in early 2014.
Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma top ASG list of most eco-friendly trucks
Mon, Mar 31 2014No one's going to confuse the massively popular Ford F-150 pickup truck with a green vehicle, but at least it performs well in an environmental sense when compared to its brethren. The Automotive Science Group (ASG) took on the odd (to us, at least) task of measuring which pickup trucks are friendliest to the environment and found that the big seller in the Blue Oval's flagship F-series came up big, while the Toyota Tacoma came up, well, slightly smaller. That's a good thing. Among the 245 light-duty trucks that ASG studied, the 3.7-liter V6-powered F-150 won ASG's award for full-size trucks for both regular and crew cabs. Meanwhile, the 2.7-liter Toyota Tacoma, with its fuel-economy rating of 23 miles per gallon combined, had smallest overall life-cycle carbon footprint and won ASG's two mid-sized categories. Finally, the Chevrolet Silverado won best all-around performance in the full-size extended-cab category. The ASG factored in eco-friendliness, price and social performance (which is measured by, "considering the rights of those charged with vehicle manufacture and assembly") to come up with its findings. Sales of Ford's F-Series trucks rose 8.4 percent last year to 74,592 units and accounted for more than a third of the total 2013 sales of Ford and its Lincoln unit. Check out the ASG's press release below. Truck Buyers Faced With "Eco" Options Galore Which 2014 full-size trucks warrant eco claims? 25 March 2014 [Santa Rosa, CA] – With a myriad of eco-branded trucks hitting the North American marketplace in 2014 – from Ford's EcoBoost and GM's EcoTec3 to Ram's latest addition, the EcoDiesel – the Automotive Science Group (ASG) was prompted to offer an objective, scientifically-based assessment to determine exactly which 2014 trucks actually earn their "eco" badge. According to ASG and the principles of ecological economics, a vehicle's eco-rating must be multi-faceted to include both environmental and economic considerations, and so the Group's proprietary rating platform – the Automotive Performance Index – does just that. Using a unique combination of vehicle data inputs that include conventional specifications as well as social, environmental and economic performance indicators, ASG's vehicle assessments empower consumers to make choices based on one's personal principles and financial requisites.
The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
