Up for auction is a very solid running, driving Model A Coupe fresh from sunny and dry California and ready for any purpose you might want it for.

I bought this car from a fellow who bought it in Bellflower, CA in 1963 and who has owned it ever since.  Two years ago he moved to Kansas City, MO to be closer to his daughter and brought the car along and put it in a mini-storage complex.  He has reached the point now where he is going to "officially" retire in Arizona and decided to sell his trusty old coupe.

In my opinion the car looks just as it should.  It is pretty much all original with a real nice non-original interior that looks to have been installed long ago, but still is in nice shape.

It fires up, runs, steers, and brakes as it should. It could use new tires, but they are fine for a town cruiser.  It has after market brake drum cooling fins which were a pretty cool oil accessory from back in the day.

Going over the car with a magnet and visual observation the only rust I could find was in the very front of the reveal on the passenger door, and a bit on the lower front cowl. (see pictures) The floor pans, trunk pans and frame are excellent.

It looks to have had all new side glass installed at some point, but the windshield looks original and has some fogging along the bottom.

The main body portion is pretty nice and straight with a few bumps and bruises but all and all pretty nice.

The fender for the most part look presentable but have some repairs in the beads.  They are totally workable.

The radiator and grille surround are nice, along with the headlights which have sealed beam conversions.

I have the original "pink slip" title from California in hand.

That's about all I can think of.  If you think of anything else I can be reached at 507-456-2957.

If you are looking for a nice, honest, solid Model A here you go.  Good Luck Bidding!

Transit Courier completes Ford's new commercial van line, will we get it?

Sat, 13 Apr 2013

This week Ford rolled out the 2014 Transit Courier, the fourth addition to its Transit range. Ford says its the first time for the nameplate in the compact van segment.
"Ford has now completely transformed its commercial vehicle line-up, with four all-new, class-leading Transits for European customers," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford Europe. "With the all-new Transit range, we expect sales to grow to 400,000 units per year by 2016, well over 50 percent more than we sell today."
When the Courier goes on sale in the Spring of 2014, it will offer more than 1,400 pounds of payload capacity, multiple mounting points for racks or other framework and a rear cargo area that can carry items 5.3 feet-long. An optional folding passenger seat boosts the cargo length to 8.5 feet.

Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.

Ford F-150 RaptorTrax is Ken Block's ultimate snowmobile

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Even when Ken Block isn't starring in the latest Gymkhana video or tearing up Global RallyCross courses, he's finding new ways to redefine "awesome" as it applies to motorsports. For evidence of this, look no further than Block's latest Monster-badged creation, the Ford F-150 RaptorTrax.
Billed as the "world's fastest snowcat," the RaptorTrax started life as a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, and then a set of Mattracks were put in place where the truck's bead-locked wheels and meaty rubber once resided. The goal was to create a truck that made it easier - and presumably more fun - for Block and his buddies to hit the slopes on their snowboards. Aside from the obvious track upgrades, this truck also received a Whipple supercharger, full roll cage, Recaro seats, an in-bed snowboard rack, a roof basket and a rear-mounted winch - you know, just in case something or someone actually manages to get this truck stuck.
The RaptorTrax will be on display later this week at the Winter X Games in Apsen, CO, but we'll have to wait until next winter for a full Block-worthy video of the truck. A full press release from Hoonigan Racing Division is posted below, and a high-res image can be found by clicking above.
