This is a good looking Model A, it starts good, it runs sweet, things work, the body looks solid, "it is no 100 point show car to roll out of the trailer at the show, its a nice driver.

VIN/vehicle identification number: A3639686

MILEAGE READING ON THE CAR: 0 reading, I got no speedometer with the car and had to put a rebuilt one in.

TITLE: Clear Indiana title in hand.

HISTORY: The car came from Indiana to Tennessee, I bought it from a guy in the next town over that was tired of it.

................................................................................................................................................................................

The following information is long and boring unless you want to buy the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM:  My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, TennesseeAthens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 67 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 42. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam.  I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American.  I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 43 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!

I NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!    I'm 67 years old and work 6 days a weed, I need a day to worship, spend time with family and rest my body and mind. I do answer my emails 2 or 3 times, I usually don't answer my cell phone. Life is more than just old cars!

DO I HAVE TO BUY THROUGH EBAY MOTORS? No, I not crazy I want to sell my car, " I will sell direct". I know a lot of you guys just use ebay as a research tool and do not like the internet or have pay pal account. Come look and judge the car for your self!

PICTURES::: Be very careful about judging from just pictures, please read my description and imagine. This is a good looking car, its just super nice driver quality. My car and everybody else's cars look cleaner and more perfect in pictures. You can't see the things I will tell you about. Be careful, things melt together in pictures.  This is a nice car, its just not a perfect 100 point restoration, it is very nice for the price.

THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE?  None that I can find.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR?     I’m a 67 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor, when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell.

PAINT:     The paint would be considered driver quality, it has a brilliant shine, it has no dents, a couple of very minor  dings, a few touched up chips, no rust, some specs in the paint, it looks good, its just not perfect.

CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK:       I consider the chrome and stainless steel good. The radiator grill shell is nice with some minor marks, the door handle OK, the bumpers very good, the headlights good.

INTERIOR:    It has no bad smells, no real wear at all, no holes, the rumble seat good, the interior has a few dirty spots.

GLASS:   Good clear glass,  no milky sports, no cracks, the side window roll up and down decent, the drivers window will sometime catch the inside door opening handle when rolling up.

ENGINE:    The engine is a sweet running 4 cylinder flathead, it runs good for a Model A. It starts good, it leaves very little oil on the floor, Model A Fords had no back rear main oil seal. It has had a rubber mounting kit on the back, this make them run a little smoother, the original mount were solid.

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  The exhaust is in good used condition.

TRANSMISSION:

3 speed manual transmission, it shift good to me, these transmissions were not synconized so you have to give them time shifting, I double clutch most of the time. Its a good transmission! The clutch does not slip, it hold good, it does chatter a little in low when released, but its very usable.

REAR-END:    Its good with no whines or growls other than normal Model A sounds.

BRAKES:  Good for mechanical brakes.

STEERING:  Good, the car drives good to me.

WHEELS AND TIRES:   Original 19 inch wheels, the 4 on the ground are good Firestones and the spare is good used.

LIGHTS:     They work, headlights work, tail light work, brake light works.

GUAGES:   The gas gauge works, the amp gauge works.

No horn.

HOW IS THE TOP AND RUNNING BOARD RUBBER? They are nice with no holes or cracking.

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE?    I think they open and close good for a Model A, on one of the rear doors the handles sticks down and you have to push it up to get the door to close.

TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard!

CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day.

     cell    423-506-8987     email:  dreamcar@live.com

PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many.

THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”.

I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET.

WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED:  The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of  Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights.

MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40,  so transport is usually very fast.

PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car, this can be by PayPal, but I will not take full payment by PayPal.

Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face.

Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had

                          a fake bank certified check.

Option 3: The safest and fastest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a

member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire

                           transfer.

INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself.  I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first!

TRADES: Please no trades!

BOTTOM LINE:    My real price is $13,700,  I would ask more if the paint was more perfect, I'm asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price on the local markety and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down.

PLEASE!!!!!!   PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle.

Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it!

Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place.

I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY.

Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info.

Thank You,

Ron Watson                  cell: 423-506-8987        email: dreamcar@live.com

Ford Transit is America's new best-selling van

Tue, Jan 6 2015

The Ford Motor Company's sales in December ticked up 1.2 percent in the US, and the automaker was down 0.5 percent for 2014. But the Blue Oval looks like it might have a real winner on its hands when it comes to its new Transit van. The recently introduced line nearly doubled its numbers during the month by delivering 10,030 units for an annual total of 20,488 examples sold. It also gave the fullsize model the title of America's bestselling van for December. Those 10,000 sales put the Transit head and shoulders above all of its competitors in the crowded commercial van market. Second place went to the Chevrolet Express with 5,611 sales in December, and the ancient Ford E-Series was third with 5,256 moved. The rest of the segment was somewhat lower, with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter at 3,288 units for the month, Ram ProMaster at 3,036, GMC Savana with 1,725 and Nissan NV at 1,554. December also marked the second month in a row for the Transit to beat out the E-Series in sales. However, its predecessor still won overall for the year with 103,263 units moved in 2014, but it enjoyed a full calendar year of sales. According to Ford spokesperson Mike Levine, the smaller Transit Connect had its best sales month ever for December too, and the automaker has been among the sales leaders in the van segment for the last 36 years. "Clearly, sales show we're best at meeting our customers' needs," said Levine to Autoblog, who touted the model's results on Twitter and cited the Transit's numerous configurations as its biggest selling point. Ford's latest van has other plusses, too, say analysts. "The one thing the Transit has going for it is a low base price relative to the competition. Compare the base price of the Sprinter to the Transit and it is hands-down a Transit win," said Dave Sullivan, auto industry analyst at AutoPacific, to Autoblog. Purely by model name, the Transit was also the bestselling van in November, with 4,851 deliveries. However, the Chevy Express had 4,478 sales, plus 716 more from the GMC Savana. Since these two are the same model beneath the skin, as a platform, they arguably took the title for that month. With a new year already here, the Transit has a new challenge to face. "2015 will be the year that the Transit has to leave the nest, because E-Series inventories will be close to zero and Transit will have to carry all the weight," said Sullivan.

Transit Courier completes Ford's new commercial van line, will we get it?

Sat, 13 Apr 2013

This week Ford rolled out the 2014 Transit Courier, the fourth addition to its Transit range. Ford says its the first time for the nameplate in the compact van segment.
"Ford has now completely transformed its commercial vehicle line-up, with four all-new, class-leading Transits for European customers," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford Europe. "With the all-new Transit range, we expect sales to grow to 400,000 units per year by 2016, well over 50 percent more than we sell today."
When the Courier goes on sale in the Spring of 2014, it will offer more than 1,400 pounds of payload capacity, multiple mounting points for racks or other framework and a rear cargo area that can carry items 5.3 feet-long. An optional folding passenger seat boosts the cargo length to 8.5 feet.

Ford fights back against patent trolls

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Some people are just awful. Some organizations are just as awful. And when those people join those organizations, we get stories like this one, where Ford has spent the past several years combatting so-called patent trolls. According to Automotive News, these malicious organizations have filed over a dozen lawsuits against the company since 2012. They work by purchasing patents, only to later accuse companies of misusing intellectual property, despite the fact that the so-called patent assertion companies never actually, you know, do anything with said intellectual property. AN reports that both Hyundai and Toyota have been victimized by these companies, with the former forced to pay $11.5 million to a company called Clear With Computers. Toyota, meanwhile, settled with Paice LLC, over its hybrid tech. The world's largest automaker agreed to pay $5 million, on top of $98 for every hybrid it sold (if the terms of the deal included each of the roughly 1.5 million hybrids Toyota sold since 2000, the company would have owed $147 million). Including the previous couple of examples, AN reports 107 suits were filed against automakers last year alone. But Ford is taking action to prevent further troubles... kind of. The company has signed on with a firm called RPX, in what sounds strangely like a protection racket. Automakers like Ford pay RPX around $1.5 million each year for access to its catalog of patents, which it spent nearly $1 billion building. "We take the protection and licensing of patented innovations very seriously," Ford told AN via email. "And as many smart businesses are doing, we are taking proactive steps to protect against those seeking patent infringement litigation." What are your thoughts on this? Should this patent business be better managed? Is it reasonable that companies purchase patents only to file suit against the companies that build actual products? Have your say in Comments.
