1929 Model A Huckster Pickup Truck on 2040-cars

Year:1929 Mileage:13800
Location:

Springville, Indiana, United States

Springville, Indiana, United States

For Sale:

1929/1930 Ford Model A Huckster Pickup Truck.

This truck is originally from Arizona and has !!NO RUST!! except for the passenger side running board (included in pictures and can be bought pretty cheap from Snyder's or other supply stores).  The truck also has two small cracks on the passenger side rear fender which is fairly common as well and can be easily welded up (Also a picture of the cracks provided).  Otherwise the truck is extremely solid and has no other body issues.

The truck has a clear Indiana title and is titled as a 1930 Ford Pickup and has matching block/frame numbers.  The body style is late 1929 and from what I've heard they ran that body into early 30' as well.

Everything mechanical runs, drives, stops as it should for being 84/85 years old and runs like a clock.  I've taken it out multiple times so far this year and haven't had any issues starting right up the first shot!  Leaks in the usual places: a little from the water pump which is notorious and small drops from the trans which is common as well.

This is not a restored truck and is just a little jalopy that is fun and reliable to hop in and drive (at very slow speeds at that)!!! (Top speed so far is 46mph downhill).

New items:  Tires, Battery, Starter, taillight wiring.

Will need a few items for consistent daily driving: new headlights (ones on it are burnt out), headlight wiring, some type of top (convertible at the moment), full floor, mirrors, windshield wiper, etc but I'm rather simplistic and have had fun with it the way it is.  Taillight/Brake light is wired and works but the light is an early 70's Honda cb350 light wired up just to make it legal for the road (hey use what you have!).

The last picture is of the truck with the full top screwed on and what an original Huckster looks like.  I have this hanging on my wall for the time being and will of course include it in the sale.  I also have the original Huckster diagram/plans that I will include with the sale in case you want to restore all of the wood.

This truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time.

If you would like to as any questions I will try to answer the best I can, please feel free to give me a call at: 260-235-0906 during reasonable hours and if I don't answer please leave your name/number and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

If you live local enough to Southern Indiana (Springville/Bedford) please feel free to give me a call and make some time to stop on by for a test drive!!!

Please no tire kickers or lowball offers, this is a very nice little truck that is running and ready to go!

Payments will be accepted through Paypal or if you are local, cash in person.

I do not need help selling :).

Thank You,

Mike

Ford lowers MPG ratings on six vehicles

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Ford has announced that it will be lowering the fuel economy ratings on a number of its 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles after an error was discovered in the company's internal testing data. The EPA has been notified.
Worryingly for Ford, the vast majority of the vehicles affected are hybrids, including the C-Max, Fusion and MKZ in both hybrid and plug-in varieties (where applicable). Also covered as part of the rerating is the entire lineup of 2014 Fiesta engines, with the exception of the ST, including the turbocharged, three-cylinder EcoBoost.
The C-Max was originally rated at 47/47/47 mpg, but dropped to 43/45/40 last year and now to 40/42/37.

Ford updates Power Stroke diesel V8, strengthens F-450, tweaks King Ranch

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Ford is giving its F-Series Super Duty trucks some upgrades for 2015, and we're happy to say that one of them is an improved Power Stroke diesel V8. Also, Ford is strengthening the top-of-the-line F-450 to handle more abuse. And if wild west-style luxury is your thing, the automaker has performed minor cosmetic updates to its King Ranch Edition trucks, as well.
The turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 is currently rated at 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque, and Ford only tells us the new and improved Power Stroke can "produce power beyond today's" engine. What, then, did Ford actually improve upon? First, the Blue Oval swapped in a new, larger turbocharger. The new Garrett GT37 turbine unit is 72.5 millimeters in diameter, eclipsing the old GT32's 64-mm diameter piece. Ford states output increases with the new turbo setup, but since the new turbocharger operates at a lower peak pressure than the old one, the automaker was able to eliminate the wastegate system and reduce the engine's complexity. Ford even redesigned the turbo's oil and cooling lines to make the powerplant simpler. A byproduct of the larger turbo is better engine exhaust braking, which is controlled manually by a button on the dashboard.
Ford claims the upgraded diesel engine is more powerful, more robust, more efficient and more refined than before.

National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.
