1929 Model A Ford Phaeton on 2040-cars

Year:1929 Mileage:47300
Location:

Howell, Michigan, United States

You are bidding on a 1929 Ford Phaeton with 47300 actual miles.  Based on the serial number, this is a mid April car.  The first owner put most of the miles on and it was stored up on blocks during the winter.  I bought it from the second owner, a collector that was downsizing.
It had 39000 miles when I purchased it with the full intent of restoring it for MARC national judging.  Based on the doors fitting perfectly, I do not believe the body has ever been off the frame. It was painted with the wrong material and striped wrong. It is upholstered and topped correctly but with the wrong materials.  It was originally andalusite blue with black belt moldings. I removed the red covering from the kick panels and drivers door and found that it had been glued over the original blue panels.
The motor is original and still has Ford stamped pistons.  It does have slight rod knock which I was assured, by and old mechanic, would not hurt anything. Just fix it at restoration.
To my knowledge I have everything needed for the restoration (See noted below):
      Correct windshield wiper, needs restoring.
Full correct tool kit, except for the correct owners manual. I do have a 1928 for possible trade.
Original top hold down straps with original buckles.  Were still on the car as purchased.
No shocks. I do have a set of numbered 1928 shocks and arms (with no pitting) for possible trade.
Original radiator core. It was plugged and has been disassembled and carefully rodded out.
      Original seamed fuel line.
Set of NOS Schrader valve stems.
Used Schrader valve stem covers and caps.
The radiator and wiring have been changed so I could drive the car on some club outings.  I have the original original, correct, radiator core. It was plugged and has been      disassembled and carefully rodded out. I also have the original wiring.
Please contact with any questions  regarding parts and condition that are not clear in the description or pictures

2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.

2015 Ford F-150 to get 2.7-liter EcoBoost?

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

As we prepare for the arrival of the all-new, next-generation Ford F-150, rumors about the new truck are picking up steam. Naturally, many of said rumors aren't just related to the way the truck will look (it's expected to take design cues from the Atlas concept shown above), they're tied to what's going to motivate the Blue Oval mainstay, with Ford's EcoBoost range likely to play an increasingly key role. While we're still expecting the current 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 to retain its position as a premium alternative to Ford's naturally aspirated V6 and V8, a Canadian automotive news site is proposing that the Dearborn automaker is also preparing a new, more fuel-efficient downsized EcoBoost option.
Autos.ca is reporting that a new, 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 could find its way into the lighter, aluminum-intensive truck. The new engine supposedly makes use of asymmetrical turbos to generate 320 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque - substantially more impressive numbers than the current 3.7-liter base engine's 302 ponies and 278 lb-ft - while offering improved fuel economy and emissions. The new 2.7 EcoBoost (internally dubbed "Nano") isn't expected to supplant the naturally aspirated V6 as the F-150's base engine, it's expected to slot in above directly it.
Naturally, we're prescribing more than a few grains of salt to go with these rumors, at least until Ford debuts the next F-150 at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, a reveal we'll be covering in a mere two weeks.

Detroit automakers gain market share simultaneously for first time in 20 years

Wed, 01 May 2013

While monthly sales figures might be an easy way of tracking the progression of the auto industry and individual automakers, looking at market share might be more indicative of how each company is actually standing up against its competitors. For the Detroit Three automakers, they have collectively lost almost 30 percent of the market over the last 20 years, but now, for the first time since 1993, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have each posted market share gains at the same time.
According to Automotive News, Ford's share increased the most by 0.7 percent, GM was up 0.5 percent and Chrysler rose marginally by 0.2 percent, giving the Detroit automakers a total market share of 45.6 percent. As for the Japan's Big Three, the article reports that Toyota is up by 0.7 percent, Nissan is down the same amount and Honda has seen "little change."
