This is a 1929 Ford Model A tudor sedan that has been built into a nice street rod. The top was chopped 4 and a half inches, roof  was filled with metal from a van, door handles shaved and the body painted aqua tone blue in urethane. The body is all steel except  for the four fenders which are fiberglass. Body is accented with 17-inch chrome wheels and burgundy pinstripes along the belt line  and fenders. There are also pinstriped graphics on the front pan and the back of the car. The car has a hood and louvered hood sides  but the owner prefers to go without the hood to expose the engine and special air cleaner. Interior is gray cloth with bucket seats.  Steering wheel is tilt. All four side windows are power. Car has air conditioning and heat. Gauges are digital and all of them work  fine. It has an overhead console with Kenwood stereo. Engine is a powerful 383 small block Chevy with Dart heads, coated exhaust  headers, Edelbrock intake and Carter carburetor. Engine provides brisk acceleration in the 2250 pound car. Transmission is a 700R4  with shift kit. Rear is a Ford 8-inch with 3:55 gears and traction lock. Front end is Mustang 2 style rack and pinion. All four corners  have coil overs. Brakes have stainless lines and silicone fluid. Discs are up front with drums in the back. He's had this one, enjoyed it and has now decided to sell and move onto other things. Email any question and feel  free to ask for the owner's number to set up a time to view the car.

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.

Ford Police Interceptors dominate Michigan State Police testing

Tue, Nov 1 2016

Once again, Ford Motor Company builds the fastest police vehicles. The Blue Oval touted the news in an official release following Michigan State Police and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department testing. Ford did very well. Except for one acceleration metric – zero to 10 miles per hour – the Blue Oval's Taurus and Explorer-based cop cars were the quickest, with particular praise coming for the EcoBoost-powered models, which bested Chevrolet and Dodge's V8-powered variants. Dearborn's products also posted the fastest average times around MSP's vehicle dynamics course. But it wasn't all positive for Ford. The only four-cylinder in the contest, the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost Ford SSP Sedan, had both the lowest top speed, 120 mph, and the slowest acceleration figures. It was also the slowest in track testing. Ford's products also failed to match the braking and top speeds of its rivals from Detroit and Auburn Hills – the rear-drive Charger Pursuit posted the best braking stats of the entire test, while the V8-powered Chevrolet Caprice hit the highest top speed, at 155 mph. Ford did score a top speed award, among SUVs, but at 132 mph, the naturally aspirated Police Interceptor Utility had to share its award with the equally fast, rear-drive Chevrolet Tahoe. The LA County Sheriff's timing isn't publicly available, but according to Ford, the EcoBoost-powered police cars put on a similarly impressive show for cops on the West Coast. We've assembled a spreadsheet on Google Docs that offers an easy to browse comparison of the different stats assembled by the Michigan State Police, and divided the vehicles between standard V6-powered sedans, high-performance sedans (EcoBoost and V8 models), and SUVs. You can check it out here. Related Video:

US Air Force Thunderbirds Mustang fetches $400K at auction

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

For the last six years, Ford has created a special version of the Mustang with a military aviation theme, and then donated the car to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to be auctioned off at the annual AirVenture event, also known as The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. The money raised goes to the EAA Young Eagles program to inspire the "aviation pioneers of tomorrow," and this year's 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition was won with a final bid of $398,000.
Celebrating 60 years of the USAF's Thunderbirds, this Mustang GT is the only one of its kind with a paint job matching the Thunderbirds' F-16 Falcon jets and some Ford Racing performance added on for good measure. Including this car, Ford has helped raise around $2.3 million for the charity with the biggest auction price coming from the first year of the program, the F-22 Raptor-inspired Mustang AV8R from 2008, which sold for $500,000.
