1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe Hotrod Hotrod Project (traditional) on 2040-cars
Cameron, North Carolina, United States
Great chance to get a traditional hotrod project or restoration and sell the extra parts. This is a 1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe with clean NC title. It is currently non-running and only needs timed, fuel, and battery charged to run again. This was originally a California car, and has only suffered minor rust issues in the lower cowl panels, lower front quarter panels, and very minor on the quarter panel area next to where the rumble seat lid goes. I have started to strip the car of the bad panels: rumble seat lid (still have for patch pieces), rear buggy spring cover, and panel blow rumble seat (new panel included). All glass is intact and trim pieces still there. Water pump was rebuilt in 2011 as I used to drive this around the neighborhood....and does not leak. This is a very very solid Model A, especially for being a soft top car. I have seen hard regular coupes and sedans that are far worse off than this. It has never had the body removed, its never sat in the mud or on the ground. Great for a hotrod, ratrod, gasser, lakester, restoration, or resto-mod. Soft top cars in this condition are not easy to come by.
Traditional hotrod parts included: -The frame is from Riley Automotive in Colorado (they specialize in hot rods). It's their Double Z frame which includes: model A cross-member, adjustable transmission mount with ladderbar mounts, Ford F1 style shock and headlight mounts, vega steering box mount, pan hard mount, and has a front kick up of 4inches in the front and 8inches of kick up in the rear to give you a nice traditional stance. -The front end kit is also from Riley and is sold as the Dry Lake kit. This is a complete front end, all hardware, and all quality pieces. It has the '39 style Lincoln drum brakes (bendix), chassis engineering 4inch drop axle ('32 heavy duty style) with lightening holes. The rest of the parts are Pete & Jakes: front spring, shackles, kingpins, tie rod, panhard bar, steering arms, spindles, hubs (5x5.5), lower shock mounts, and tie rod ends. Also included is a set of split '36 or '37 wishbones that correspond to axle. (over $1900 in parts) -WWII B-25 bomber seats x2 (original) -Chrysler 331 dual quad intake (actual vintage piece) -1955 Chrysler 331 HEMI core, disassembled, complete minus oil pan and original intake manifold, also included are new valve covers with correct stamped "Firepower" and chevy water pump adapter. -WWII bomber oxygen tank (make that 2 now...no space and no need) -will throw in a 330 DeSoto HEMI core also (no space or need for it) -custom made aircraft style seatbelts, 2in wide made to look like 40's/50's military style...these cost me over $350 to have made....DOT approved - Ford F1 steering box, 1940 Ford steering wheel (needs re-boned) and column, Chrysler HEMI to chevy TH-350 transmission adapter and flywheel, *more pictures available (I do check email sites, if sent email address does not come up as clear or seems suspicious I will not send additional pictures) please inquire with further questions |

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks
Thu, Jan 22 2015Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.
2020 Harley-Davidson GMC Sierra brings the iconic brand to a new truck
Sat, Jan 11 2020The Harley-Davidson Ford F-150 rides alone no longer. Thanks to the Tuscany Motor Company, it now has a fellow truck associate to cruise with side-by-side on the open roads. Introducing the 2020 Harley-Davidson GMC Sierra, which will make its official debut at the 2020 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. For years, a Harley-Davidson special edition package has been associated with the Ford F-150 nameplate. Although Ford does not offer a direct option from the factory, Tuscany Motor Company answered the demand and now builds truck packages that carry the famous American motorcycle name. With the direction of Harley-Davidson, Tuscany creates interior and exterior customizations that reflect notable and iconic features of the bikes. This year is the first time Tuscany has ever offered a Harley-Davidson package on a GMC Sierra, and as expected, it's pretty similar to the one offered on the F-150. The package includes at least 60 exclusive parts, and the Sierra is available in Onxy Black, Summit White, or Satin Steel Metallic. Setting the tone are Fatboy-inspired 22-inch milled aluminum wheels wrapped in chunky 35-inch all-terrain tires. As Tuscany is a division of Fox performance parts, the truck rides on a specially designed BDS suspension with tuned Fox shocks and lateral stability bars. The truck also has a redesigned front bumper and grille with an integrated LED light bar for off-roading, power running boards with rock guard trim and entry lights, color-matched Harley-Davidson-designed fender flares, custom front fender vents with the Harley logo, an induction-style hood, a redesigned rear bumper, and a tuned exhaust with billet tips. More badging, tailgate cladding, a windshield header, orange tow hooks, and a bed rug add extra pizzazz. Finally, for all the planes, drones, and aliens who are eyeing pickups from the sky, the tonneau cover is debossed with the Harley-Davidson logo. Inside, the fan pack includes leather seating with orange diamond stitching, and piano black door panels, console, and trim. Harley-Davidson badging and branding is on the seats, on the center console, on the floor mats, the door sill inserts, the instrument gauges, and even the pedals. If this is up your alley, and you're interested in buying, the Sierras, no matter the color, start at $94,995 before taxes and fees. 10 automakers shack up in Detroit hotel to talk Takata airbags
Sun, Dec 14 2014Since Takata has decided not to take the lead concerning potential issues with its airbag inflators, the automakers have. Perhaps that's unsurprising, since it's the automakers, not Takata, that will take a beating on the dealership floor if consumers decide its models are a health hazards. The Detroit News reports that Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru met in a hotel conference room near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport last week to sort out a way to understand the technical issues involved. So far, faulty airbag inflators have been ruled the cause of five deaths and 50 injuries around the world, but neither Takata nor investigators understands exactly why the inflators are malfunctioning. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently asked Takata to issue a national recall, Takata declined, citing a minuscule failure rate and the fact that it's still investigating the issue. Toyota and Honda then made an industry-wide appeal for "a coordinated, comprehensive testing program" that would pinpoint the problem inflators and get them replaced, and that's what the Detroit meeting was about. Numerous issues, however, will make this a long row to hoe: simply getting the parts to replace the nearly 20 million inflators in cars recalled around the world so far - even working with other suppliers - will take a years, but more importantly, no one knows if the replacement inflators currently being installed will suffer the same issue. Answers will hopefully come quickly with Takata, the ten automakers and NHTSA all independently investigating the problem.
