1929 Ford Model A Coupe on 2040-cars
Jonesboro, Louisiana, United States
Up for bids is this 1929 model A coupe. Let me start out saying that I was asked to sell this car for a gentleman who lives in my town so this is his car I am just listing it and selling it for him. If you have any questions or need anything I can get any information you need. Also I restore 1960's model cars so this is something that I am not an expert on. Look at the pics and I am going to do my best to describe this car. This is a 1929 model A coupe. It has a rumble seat in the back of it. This is a older restoration. It would be considered a daily driver or a car you could show off and enjoy. It is not a show car just a nice driver. The paint is older but still presentable. The interior looks okay. The body looks solid. It has new tires on it. The guy said when he got the car it had been sitting up for several years. He spent alot of money getting it back road worthy. The car runs good now. The local ford dealership went through it and fine tuned it and put new tires on it. It has a clear title in the persons name I am listing it for. The chrome looks good on it. Just look at the pics and if you need to know something I will do my best to find out the information. Once the auction ends just get in contact with me and we can get the deal done. The car is located in Jonesboro Louisiana. It will have to be picked up here. The car seems to run good. If its up for a cross country drive I can't say so that is up to you. I always recommend picking these old cars up with a trailer but that is always up to the buyer. If you want to give me a call my number is 318-278-1069.

Ford dinged by OSHA for asbestos at Buffalo plant
Sat, 20 Jul 2013Ford has come under fire from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations regarding asbestos exposure in a company metal stamping plant in Buffalo, NY. OSHA has cited Ford for eight violations in total, according to an Automotive News report, and faces fines of up to $41,800. 537 workers are employed at the stamping facility.
The violations include a pipefitter at the facility being exposed to asbestos-containing material while working on a steam line, other workers exposed to the material without respiratory protection and work areas that were not designed to limited the number of workers in contact with asbestos. Further, areas in which asbestos was present were not properly restricted, and levels of asbestos in the air were not monitored.
According to an unnamed Ford spokesperson in the AN report, the company feels that the OSHA citation is erroneous saying, "We have fully cooperated with the local OSHA officials and we don't believe the citations are warranted." Ford also maintains that it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue.
Mysterious small Ford spied in Germany
Sat, 29 Jun 2013Our spy photographers have just popped off a few shots of something curious. This little runabout was spotted in Germany out testing with a current-generation Ford Fiesta. We're fairly confident the machine is a Ford, but exactly which Ford model is up for debate. The hatchback could be the next-generation Ka, but we've also heard that the Blue Oval supermini might not get a replacement. Our shooter says the five-door is a bit smaller than the current Fiesta, though there is a chance that this rig is just an engineering mule for drivetrain development. Then again, it could be a model built specifically for the South African market or China, or not a Ford at all.
Whatever it is and wherever it's headed, you can check out in the gallery for a closer look before heading into Comments to weigh in with your best guess.
11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching
Fri, 26 Sep 2014This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.
