This Galaxie was driven by a local woman who still lives and works here in town. She isn't sure who owned the title but that was 40 years ago! My father owned a gas station/repair/tow business. I still own a tow business and if anyone expresses much interest in this vehicle i'll go thru the old business records and see if I can find a title for it but lets assume it was never transferred. It could be her husband or whoever at the time had something to do with her driving this car. I know my dad worked on it and that probably explains why he ended up with the car. He had me remove the heads shortly before I went in the army in '73 and as mentioned it's been sitting on the ranch ever since. I'm sure the engine was never overhauled and the car is all OEM with no restoration attempts and such. We are in the extreme east side of Oregon, not much rust here and as you can see in the photos the dash is in great shape. Of course the upholstery is shot. the intake manifold for the engine is in the back seat, If the heads are still here it'd be a major project to find them. tires are missing or worthless. I don't think there are any dents that can not be removed by any body shop, there is some putty on the drivers side over the rear wheel well..
I don't know what else to tell you but being a factory black/red car with factory air I think it will be a head turner if someone will take it on. I copied this info from the data tag; body; 54B or 34B, COLOR; A, TRIM 25, DATE 080, DSO 72, AXLE 6, TRANS; 2 AND SERIAL #; 2J52X150287. It has a manual shifter on the column, I don't see how it'd fit on the floor with that big polarair ac unit in there!, the seats look manual (lever on LH side.)
I respond well to E mail so write and i'll always answer. I understand the title issue, owning a tow business I know there are ways of dealing with it. About payment and shipping. I'll tow it as far as La Grande Or. or Boise Id. for a flat bid, any further will be at the going rate. I'll help load if you come to rescue it. I'll take a check or pay pal but if it's a personal check make arrangments so it clears before loading. IE; going to bank (weekday) etc. in fact, you should plan on my doing that even with a cashiers check. I can also take some plastic, when the device is working!

Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell revisit bitter F1 rivalry in... Ford Fusion campaign?
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Formula One World Champions Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell haven't been on good terms since the 1986 season, when Piquet joined Mansell at the Williams team and Piquet spent the year privately fuming about not being granted the status of number one driver. Things only got worse from there - even though Piquet won the title the following year with Williams, still partnered with Mansell, the fuming was a lot less private.
They're back together after a 25-year silence, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil to drive the new Ford Fusion. Called "Fusion Grand Prix," both men get the new Ford sedan, prepped to their liking - but still street legal, we assume - for a race to decide... well, who is faster behind the wheel of a Fusion.
There will be four episodes, with the first two having already aired. The third episode comes on January 29 and the race happens February 5. You'll find two video episodes and a press release below, but note - because it's a campaign for Ford Brazil, Piquet's dialogue in the vids isn't translated, so hit the Closed Captioning button to hear his side of the smack talking.
Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]
Fri, 16 May 2014When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn't said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.
The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we've spotted before - same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What's different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500's usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.
Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it's also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We've got a video below that compares the two.
Ford opens research center in Silicon Valley
Fri, Jan 23 2015These days, the software running a vehicle's myriad of electronic systems seems to be getting nearly as much development focus from automakers as the traditional mechanical parts that keep a car going. Constantly improving that technology requires a lot of experimentation, though, and Ford is expanding its presence in Silicon Valley with the just-opened Research and Innovation Center Palo Alto to make that progress possible. Ford opened its first office in the country's technological hub in 2012 to draw talent and devise ways to deal with vast amounts of sensor data. Apparently, setting up shop in Silicon Valley was deemed a success because the Blue Oval decided to create this new lab in the Stanford Research Park to focus on five areas: connectivity, mobility, autonomous vehicles, customer experience and analytics. Among the center's potential projects, Ford is hoping to develop better natural speech recognition, which is absolutely vital for improving infotainment systems. Assuming the tech eventually works well enough, your voice might even be used to adjust a vehicle's power seats, according to the automaker. The Blue Oval is also letting engineers from Stanford University test autonomous driving algorithms on a self-driving version of the Fusion. In a smaller stakes venture, researchers are working to get a Nest smart thermometer to automatically adjust the temperature at home depending on if an owner's vehicle is leaving or coming back. To really show that its serious about these ventures, Ford hired Dragos Maciuca away from Apple as the center's technical leader. The automaker also wants to have 125 researchers at work there by the end of the year.
