1966 Ford Galaxy Country Sedan Wagon CA Survivor LowRider Cruiser Raked Hot Rat Rod Goth Matte Black Murdered Black Custom

Up for sale is a California Original Survivor, Matching Numbers 1966 Ford Galaxy Country Sedan Wagon. The “Country Sedan” is a Galaxy that is a Wagon also known as just the Galaxy Wagon. In fact if you look carefully you can see various Galaxy emblems/symbols on some of these. When purchasing parts, the parts may be listed under Galaxy Wagon.

While it is a surviving matching numbers car it does have some modern updates to enhance your driving experiences and features/looks that some restomods would have. Runs, drives, and cruises well. Received 17mpg, mostly highway 60 mile trip when vehicle was purchased. Traffic & road type/conditions varied (some LA stop & go & mountain passes included), light on the accelerator. It’s a pleasure to cruise and it gets up and goes. It’s a great all around vehicle: for the beach /  surf wagon, mountains, desert, the river, lakes, camping, fishing, hunting, & work. Plenty of room and power to haul people, tools, and equipment. You’ll get plenty of compliments around town, and at car meets / cruise nights. Would not hesitate to drive it a long distance.

Lots of Original OEM & Ford Factory Performance & Aftermarket Performance Parts that will work on this model being listed separately later.

Holy crime-fighting Ford F-150, Batman!

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

What would Batman drive for his weekly trips to Home Depot for the bits and pieces needed to keep his lair deep below Wayne Manor in tip-top condition? Certainly not the Batmobile - there's no way a 4x8 sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, not to mention the fact that jet turbine engines have an unfortunate tendency to set trailers on fire when towing...
No, what Batman needs is a pickup truck. The boys from Ford teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports to build just such a machine, and it has just debuted at Comic Con. Designed by Jared Barris, grandson of the legendary kustomizer George Barris, the 2012 F-150 pickup you see here, dubbed Crime Fighter, is painted Tuxedo Black with Ferrari Red highlights and is affixed with fins on each side of the truck bed. It's nothing if not unique.
Well, it's at least unique for now. According to Ford, Galpin in Southern California is willing to take orders for customers looking to don a cape and hit the town for a night of crime-fighting action. Or trips to Home Depot. Check out our high-res image gallery and then scroll down for the official description from Ford. We're waiting for details such as pricing and build time from Ford, and we'll update this post if and when we hear back.

Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.

How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]

Fri, 30 May 2014

Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.
