1967 FORD GALAXIE COUNTRY SEDAN SURF WOODY
When I was a kid about 5 or 6 my Granny had a 64 Falcon. Black with wood. I can remember walking along the tops of the fenders barefooted. If she saw me she would yell and threaten to whip me with a switch. That was back when people whipped kids with a switch. The good old days. My Papa was a mechanic and when the six got old he put in a built 302. My uncles would argue over driving it so they could smoke the tires. That car won a place in my heart that has lasted 35 years. I love a woody wagon.
Up for auction is my daily driven dream car. I am sacrificing it to go back to school so I can better support my family. I am not sad. I will get another one.
I have personally watched people at car shows get out of their car and walk past numerous pristine show cars to see this wagon. As the feelings of nostalgia overwhelm them they open their mouth and say "When I was a kid we had one like this." My dad carried his surf board on the roof of something like this. I will gladly pass this torch on to the winner of this auction. This car is the epitome of cool. When I go to get fuel it takes 45 minutes because of the people wanting to talk about it. Or take pictures. If you do not like attention do not bid on this car!
This car has the ever faithful Challenger 289. This one is equipped with a 2 barrel carb for good gas mileage and BBK shorty headers with true dual exhaust, Thrush mufflers, and chrome tips for the get up and go. It sounds like a chorus of angels singing an old Metallica song. You should see the looks on peoples faces when I pass them in the fast lane on the interstate. This is a well maintained DAILY driven hot rod. You can literally purchase this car and drive it back and forth to work everyday, immediately after you get it. Some listings say "drive anywhere" this car is driven everywhere! Though it has been in some shows (and won awards) this is not a show car. You may call it a rat rod or street rod. It's just plain bad. It has some small dings and patina paint, about 4 colors of red, and the chrome is good but not perfect. The white on the roof is kinda thin in spots. This car makes no apologies. The surf and skate stickers, and the board on top, really draw a crowd.
I am the second (technically third) owner of this car. The original owners bought the car in Lasater Missouri and owned it till they passed away in the early nineties. It was eventually purchased in an estate sale by Miami Classic Motors and I purchased it through ebay and had it shipped to me for Christmas. At one point it sat in storage for 25 years. Hence the low miles. I have service records documenting the mileage.
I added the headers and exhaust. Professionally installed by a local speed shop. It has a rebuilt carb, new cap and rotor, condenser, points, plugs, wires, valve cover gaskets, 160 degree thermostat, fuel pump, brake lines, battery tray, wheel cylinders, headlight switch, dimmer switch, all lights, seat cover, middle seat belts, cup holder and a bunch of air fresheners. I like air fresheners. I have worked out all the bugs. The engine is freshly painted Ford Blue and the valve covers and air cleaner are freshly painted Thunderbird Gold. The original seat cover was in bad shape so I installed the seat cover like a new cover by disassembling the seat and contact gluing the covers on and reassembling. I have worked in several custom shops and all work is professionally done. It could us new carpet if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not. Also the rear door doesn't latch properly and the window switch doesn't work. The window motor works fine though. This car has factory air conditioning and it might work. I removed the belt when I got the car and haven't really needed air so I didn't put it back on. The wood was added to the car sometime in it's life. Country Sedans didn't come with woodgrain. The only mod I wanted to do but did not get around to is to cut one ring out of the front coil springs. I'll leave that to the next owner. Just please keep the hubcaps and don't put some new style ugly wheels on it. The tires were brand new when I got the car and are still in good shape. The windows are all in perfect shape and the cars shows no signs of being in any accidents.
Buy with confidence. This car is ready to go cruising. Paypal please and thanks for your business. Good luck!

Detroit automakers gain market share simultaneously for first time in 20 years
Wed, 01 May 2013While monthly sales figures might be an easy way of tracking the progression of the auto industry and individual automakers, looking at market share might be more indicative of how each company is actually standing up against its competitors. For the Detroit Three automakers, they have collectively lost almost 30 percent of the market over the last 20 years, but now, for the first time since 1993, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have each posted market share gains at the same time.
According to Automotive News, Ford's share increased the most by 0.7 percent, GM was up 0.5 percent and Chrysler rose marginally by 0.2 percent, giving the Detroit automakers a total market share of 45.6 percent. As for the Japan's Big Three, the article reports that Toyota is up by 0.7 percent, Nissan is down the same amount and Honda has seen "little change."
Ford unveils next-gen S-Max in Europe
Tue, 16 Sep 2014Let's get this unfortunate though important tidbit out of the way right off the bat: The Ford S-Max isn't sold in the United States, and it's not coming here, at least not anytime soon. And so it's with our European friends in mind that we share this information about the next-gen S-Max (previewed about a year ago in concept form) that is set to debut all across Europe next year and will be shown off at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Now, moving on...
As with the first-gen S-Max, the new model will boast seating for seven passengers, along with a decent amount of storage space, all packed into a relatively reasonably sized package. Powering the front wheels (or optionally all four) will be the buyer's choice of EcoBoost gasoline-turbocharged or turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines along with automatic and manual transmission options. Included in the mix is a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 horsepower, though the 240-horse 2.0 is likely to be seen as the headliner.
There are all kinds of new technologies on offer, ranging from Adaptive Steering to Dynamic LED Headlamps with Glare-Free Highbeams, and it's all housed inside new, more sleekly designed bodywork riding atop a chassis with new suspension architecture designed to make the S-Max a people-hauler that's still fun to drive. For all the details, we suggest you scroll down below to read through Ford's official press release.
Spy shooter claims proof of upcoming aluminum Ford F-Series Super Duty
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford has already confirmed that the 2015 F-150 (pictured above) was just the beginning for its more extensive use of aluminum. CEO Alan Mulally said it himself during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. We've even already seen the future Raptor testing with an aluminum body. But a recent discovery from an intrepid spy photographer might indicate that the lightweight metal is coming to the Blue Oval's Super Duty pickups in their upcoming generation, as well.
According to Automotive News, a spy shooter in Colorado spotted a prototype for the next-gen F-350 testing. He happened to have a magnet on hand and got close enough to check the truck out. When he held it up to the metal in the bed, it didn't stick, which signaled to him a switch from steel to aluminum.
Obviously, this claim raises some questions. Given that it was a test vehicle, one possibility is that the Blue Oval is just evaluating the feasibility of switching to aluminum for the Super Duty trucks, not necessarily committed to it yet. Ford has been testing it quite exhaustively, after all. In fact, much of the rest of the truck in question was covered in camouflage, so it's possible that the magnet failed to work along the rest of the body not because it was aluminum, but because it wasn't powerful enough to get through the disguising material. Thus, the lightweight metal's use could be far less substantial than on the new F-150. Still, it was a clever idea for the cameraman to check things out and might have given us the first hint about brand's next heavy-duty models.
