1965 Ford Galaxie 2DR Hardtop, 390 C.I. Big Block V8, 4 Barrel Carb, Dual Exhaust, 3 SPD Automatic. Shocks and Suspension bushings recently redone front and rear. New Drum brakes all the way around. Radiator was replaced 4 years ago. The old Interior is shot, It’s all there, but the seats need new foam and upholstery. I’ve just been cruising it around for the last couple years with blankets over them. Fun to cruise with the front and rear windows down, showing off the hard top’s lines in the nice weather. The body lines are straight but it does have some rust. The trunk floor is rusted out, but elsewhere in the trunk area is rock solid. The Left rear qtr will need some work eventually. The dual exhaust sounds great. This 2 door hard top looks good cruising. Its got a well maintained “15 ft paint job” from a repaint some years ago. Garage kept for the last 8 years. Aluminum slotted mag wheels and good rubber all around. Mechanically sound. It starts, stops, turns and rides as it should. This is a great looking old car that can be had for less money than some crazy guys spend on a set of wheels and tires. Clear NC Title in hand. It’s a 49 year old American Car. Real Steel throughout! All lights, gauges, turn signals, etc work! It’s been maintained to regularly drive around with the kids to get ice cream, to the local car shows and cruise ins and to go to the drive in movies with your honey. I'd like to sell to an adult (motor head or even a fledgling motor head is a plus) who will enjoy it understanding it isn’t a new Honda. It’s a fun old Ford. Low reserve, Bid, Buy, and have fun! Why the 2015 Detroit Auto Show will be the best since The Crisis
Tue, Dec 30 2014The Detroit Auto Show clearly has its swagger back, and the 2015 edition will be a veritable feast for the enthusiast senses. We're talking serious performance, and it will be exhibited in a variety of forms. Sports cars. Supercars. Muscle-bound luxury cars. They're all set for splashy debuts in January in the Motor City. It's another signpost that companies have recovered from the global economic crisis that gripped the industry from 2008-09. For a while, automakers played it safe at Detroit and other shows. Environmentally friendly cars were important, especially for General Motors and Chrysler that were living on loans from Uncle Sam. Ford, Toyota and other companies generally focused on their best-selling or core models. With a few notable exceptions, recent auto shows have been a bit more buttoned-down than in the past. Boring probably isn't the right word, but austerity has been reality. That's changing. Car companies are making money. Sales are up. Aside from the many nagging recalls – and they are notable – the industry now has the time and energy to make performance cars a priority. That will be offered in hard evidence in Detroit. A year from now when we look back at this auto show, we'll sum it up with one word: Horsepower. But make no mistake, this isn't frivolous. Sports and luxury cars are expensive. They're profitable. They boost images and highlight strengths. With that in mind, here are five significant performance-oriented reveals to watch for when the show kicks off in less than two weeks. 2016 Acura NSX Acura's reborn NSX is a strong bet to earn plenty of votes for our Editors' Choice awards. It's one of the most anticipated – and strung-out – reveals of the year. Think back: we actually saw an NSX concept at the 2012 Detroit show, and Acura has spent the last three years teasing the car in a variety of ways. The slow burn, however, means we know a lot about the NSX. It's will use a mid-mounted twin-turbo hybrid powertrain and run with all-wheel drive. It will also wear an innovative zirconium e-coat paint, a new paint process that Honda says is more environmentally friendly. Honda has also said it will build the new NSX in Ohio, where a large part of the car's development work has been done. The original NSX was produced from 1990-2005 and helped establish Acura's performance credentials in the United States. It was a landmark car and a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Lamborghini and others.
Ford open to diesel, hybrid or electric Mustang? [w/poll]
Sun, 08 Dec 2013The Ford Mustang may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when you think of environmentally-friendly forms of transportation. The arrival of the turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the new Mustang could do a lot to combat that perception, but the EcoBoost engine may just be the tip of the iceberg in that regard.
Speaking with Ford powertrain boss Bob Fascetti at the reveal of the new Mustang in Australia, GoAuto reports that the Blue Oval automaker is considering offering its latest pony car with a diesel, hybrid or even electric powertrain in the future.
"We're not looking at diesel at the moment, but given where we need to go with fuel consumption we are looking at all our options," said Fascetti. Other options could include a nine- or ten-speed automatic transmission to replace the current six-speed unit in order to help improve fuel economy and emissions for the Mustang, although figures for the current lineup have yet to be revealed.
2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.
