2 Door Hard Top, Big Block 390, Automatic on 2040-cars
Garner, North Carolina, United States
1965 Ford Galaxie 2DR Hardtop, 390 C.I. Big Block V8, 4 Barrel Carb, Dual Exhaust, 3 SPD Automatic. Shocks and Suspension bushings recently redone front and rear. New Drum brakes all the way around. Radiator was replaced 4 years ago. The old Interior is shot, It’s all there, but the seats need new foam and upholstery. I’ve just been cruising it around for the last couple years with blankets over them. Fun to cruise with the front and rear windows down, showing off the hard top’s lines in the nice weather. The body lines are straight but it does have some rust. The trunk floor is rusted out, but elsewhere in the trunk area is rock solid. The Left rear qtr will need some work eventually. The dual exhaust sounds great. This 2 door hard top looks good cruising. Its got a well maintained “15 ft paint job” from a repaint some years ago. Garage kept for the last 8 years. Aluminum slotted mag wheels and good rubber all around. Mechanically sound. It starts, stops, turns and rides as it should. This is a great looking old car that can be had for less money than some crazy guys spend on a set of wheels and tires. Clear NC Title in hand. It’s a 49 year old American Car. Real Steel throughout! All lights, gauges, turn signals, etc work! It’s been maintained to regularly drive around with the kids to get ice cream, to the local car shows and cruise ins and to go to the drive in movies with your honey. I'd like to sell to an adult (motor head or even a fledgling motor head is a plus) who will enjoy it understanding it isn’t a new Honda. It’s a fun old Ford. Low reserve, Bid, Buy, and have fun! Some very cool decoding of it’s production code: 5N66Z100312 63B - O - 57 - 28H - 22 - 1 - 4 a Hardtop coupe with wing windows! Wing windows are awesome! It also has the neat little pull open vents in the front kick panels that are fully functional. Selling this for my “local” good friend who lives 4 miles away right here in Garner, NC where the car resides in his garage. If you are close enough to come see it, feel free to call and arrange a meeting. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally for the reserve price. If you bid above the reserve, then game on! It will be yours if you win the auction. Thanks a bunch. Call 919-Eight One 9 – 58 Oh Nine if you want to see the car in person beforehand. I've tried to accurrately represent this car. But please ask questions if needed. Yes, its ready to drive a crusis as-is today! Just expect to throw a blanket over the seats until you get them re-done. I can arrange to meet you or your car carrier/transport service. $1000 of the purchase price needs to be paid within 3 days of the end of auction through PAYPAL or express mailed cashier’s check. Balance to be paid in full before pick up. |

Massive Airbag Recall Affects Seven Automakers
Mon, Jun 23 2014The recall of faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata has exploded today to grow to seven automakers. In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in its investigation that moisture played a role in determining whether there would be a problem. However, some companies opted for national campaigns. The exact number of affected models for these campaigns isn't yet known at this time. BMW is recalling an undisclosed number of 325i, 325Xi, 330i and 330Xi models from the 2001 through 2005 model years and the 2001-2006 model year versions of the 325Ci and 330Ci for the driver side and passenger side inflators. Only vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are covered under this recall. Neither Chrysler's filing with NHTSA nor its press release list the specific models affected, but a company spokesperson told Autoblog that at this time it only covers the driver and passenger side inflators for the 2006 Dodge Charger in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the NHTSA found that moisture played a roll in determining if there would be a problem. Ford is recalling an estimated 58,669 cars that include the 2005-2006 model years of the Ford GT for the driver and passenger inflators, the 2007-2007 model years of the Mustang for the driver side and 2004 Ranger for the passenger side. It covers vehicles originally sold or currently registered in, wait for it... Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands. Honda is issuing three separate recalls regarding the problem. First, the company is recalling the 2002-2003 model years Civic, CR-V and Odyssey and the 2003 model year of the Accord, Element, Pilot and Acura MDX to replace the passenger's side inflator. This covers all models nationwide. Second, Honda is repairing the passenger's side airbag inflator in the 2003-2005 Accord, Civic, CR-V, Element, Pilot, the 2003-2004 model year versions of the Odyssey, the 2003-2005 model year Acura MDX and 2005 Acura RL. However, only for vehicles located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Owners will be notified in July. Finally, Honda is separately replacing some models' driver's side inflators.
Recharge Wrap-up: Ford's "snowtonomous" Fusion Hybrid, Porsche eyes battery makers
Fri, Mar 11 2016Bosch and Panasonic are vying to be the battery supplier for Porsche's electric sports car based on the Mission E concept. While Bosch's costs may be higher, its solution would offer simpler logistics. Panasonic is already well established as a battery maker, providing the packs for the Porsche car's rival, Tesla. "We're in the final stage of making a decision," says Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, declining to comment on specific manufacturers. Neither Bosch nor Panasonic provided comment. Read more from Automotive News. Renault will supply a fleet of 150 Renault Zoe EVs for a smart solar charging project in Utrecht, Netherlands. The project involves the installation of 1,000 EV chargers powered by 10,000 photovoltaic panels. The Renault Zoes would be used as part of a carsharing program powered by the solar chargers. Renault and its partners will also implement a vehicle-to-grid system to provide energy during peak demand from the solar chargers and connected EVs. Read more in the press release from Renault. Ford has been testing an autonomous Fusion Hybrid prototype that is capable of driving itself in snowy conditions. Ford uses 3D mapping to scan the drive route. Its LiDAR laser mapping can even detect single falling snowflakes. It collects and processes up to 600 gigabytes of data per hour, comparing its environment to saved maps, a process that helps establish location more precisely than GPS. In addition to the LiDAR systems, the car is also equipped with cameras and radar to help it navigate. Eventually, the car could even be able to clean off its sensors when it detects loss of performance from ice and dirt. Read more in the press release below. FROM AUTONOMY TO SNOWTONOMY: HOW FORD FUSION HYBRID AUTONOMOUS RESEARCH VEHICLE CAN NAVIGATE IN WINTER DEARBORN, Mich., March 10, 2016 – Driving in snow can be a slippery challenge, with the potential for one blizzardy gust to white-out your field of view – a situation faced by the majority of people in the United States. So if self-driving cars are to become a reality – and they almost certainly will – they must be able to navigate snow-covered roads. In its quest to bring self-driving vehicles to millions of people around the world, Ford reveals six facts about its technology that allows for a car to drive itself in snow. 1. Mapping the way: Ford first creates high-resolution 3D maps using LiDAR technology to scan the area its autonomous vehicle will later drive in the snow.
