I bought this to work on with my son...Going to go another direction. He is wanting to build a T Bucket.
The car is solid for the most part, rust along trunk lid-it will need to be replaced, We were going to take all the side chrome off and slick it out. The bumpers have been painted as well as most of the trim. The frame above the rear axle has been prior repaired, someone used plate steel and rough cut it. The underside of the car has some type of under coating on it.
The inside is really good, top is good, carpet good, seat good, tires have tread on them. The car runs really rough, have messed with it a little, there is 1/2 tank of gas in it, have had 2 different mechanic types tell me it may be the gas, added additive it does run a little better, the choke wire is off of it, that may be part of the issue?? The former owner stated it has only been driven 4-5 times in last 3 years, gas stinks, we have only had it for a month or so. The car does run and drive, it just runs really rough. Will need to be trailered home.
The left side of grill mounting tab is broken, the AC does not work. There is a piece of trim on right front fender that is missing, some has dents and dings in it. Trim has been painted. Crack in dash pad.
Windows and top all work really well, glass is OK.
Mileage shows 68,427- the title shows different 76,520, the guy we bought it from said there was a typo on the title, in order to get fixed they would have had to go back to the original owner to get fixed and she is dead...The inside of car, top, pedals look right for miles, the title shows different than what the car has. So I am selling as unknown miles.

Has the auto industry hit peak hybrid?
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Hybrids are known for their great fuel economy and low emissions, but it looks like given current market conditions, only about three percent of new car consumers are willing to pay the premium for them. A new study from IHS/Polk finds that the hybrid market share among overall US auto sales are falling, despite more models with the technology on sale than ever before.
The study examined new car registrations in March from 2009 through 2014. In that time, the auto industry grew from 24 to 47 hybrid models available to consumers, but market share for the powertrain remained almost stagnant in that time. As of 2009, hybrids held 2.4 percent of the market; it fell slightly to 2.3 percent in 2010 and grew to 3.3 percent in 2013. However, 2014 showed a drop back to 3 percent. Overall hybrid sales have been growing since 2010, but they just aren't keeping up with the total auto market.
According to IHS/Polk, this isn't what you would expect to see. Usually, each new model in the market brings along with it a boost in sales. The growth in hybrid models 2009 to 2014 should have shown a larger increase in share for the segment.
Ford bringing C-Max Solar Energi Concept to CES
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Solar energy might not be enough to power a usable electric vehicle on its own, but that doesn't mean it can't lend a helping hand. And that's what Ford has in store for the Consumer Electronics Show opening next week in Las Vegas.
Ford has essentially taken its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid and fitted it with the latest in solar panel technology developed by SunPower, acting like a magnifying glass to capture as much of the sun's energy as possible. So you get the benefit of an electric vehicle, with the range assurance of a hybrid, without needing to draw from the grid.
Ford estimates that a day of charging in the sunshine will give the C-Max Solar Energi concept the same full charge as the production PHEV, with a total range of 620 miles - 21 of which can be run on electric power alone. Otherwise the vehicle - which remains a concept for the time being - is identical to the existing C-Max Energi. The top-selling model in Ford's growing hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio helps put Ford just behind Toyota among the top seller of hybrids in America.
