1968 Galaxie 500 4 door. This is a really cool car, let me start by saying, it was in a storage building for probly 20 years buried under foam rubber. Where it rested until I got it, about two years ago. It was sold new by Jenkins and Wynne in Clarksville , TN. It was a older lady's car, which is evident  by the dings and war wounds it wears today. It was in dry storage so there is no rust to speak of, very solid body. The floors are great as is the truck pan and quarters. The inside truck lip has some rust on the inside, but none on the out side. The body is great for it age. It still wears all of its original paint, never painted. It is all original down to the engine paint and muffler system. You will not find a better car like it out there for the price, it just plain cool cruiser. I got the engine back up and running, it has new plugs, wires , points, condenser, and cap and rotor button. I rebuild the factory autolite 2v carb. It runs like a dream, quite and smooth as can be. It has factory a/c , that works still. It is R12, and work great. It might could use a can put in sometime this summer, but still gets cold. It has a new fuel pump, fuel tank has been coated, and a new fuel sending unit. Has 4 new headlights and a new headlamp switch and dimmer switch. Every thing works just as it should , the fan blower makes abit of noise on high, but that's it. Radio is AM and works, all original .It has very nice blue interior, no tears in the seats , head liner has one very small tear at the back, but is almost unseen. The car has all of it working seat belts. The carpet is kinda shot, very dried out where your feat set, I have this cover with floor mats.  All brakes are new, new shoes, rubber lines, wheel cylinders, and hardware. New master cylinder is also installed. Everything is as it should be for a cool driver car. This is not a show car, but that's why it so cool. Use it as it should be , take it to swap meets , drive it on cruise in, take the Power Tour in it, sure wish I could. Its that good. all fluids have been changed , she's ready to go. It does have some war wounds, lt fender has a dent at the front, that's the worst spot, others are dings and scratches. I have put 16x8 2000 model ford cop car wheels on it for a better ride and drive. It has new shocks all the way around.  It has nearly new tires on I just installed and had the car lined up. It has new A arm bushings, and a new idler arm as well , all Moog parts. Radiator has been cleaned and inspected. new water pump as well. I have spent a lot getting it up and going as good as it is so it can be enjoyed.  Use it as a shop car for your Ford hot rod or muscle car shop. Use it as a daily driver family car. Like I said power tour it, turbo it for a sleeper , which kind was my first plan lol. Make a cool cop car out of it .  Lots of enjoyment to be had for little investment. Be a perfect car to start out in, with planty of room, and you don't have to worry about a door ding, and it all original still. This is just a really original cool driver, that could be used fro about what ever you wanted to do with it. Please look at all the pictures before bidding. Please ask questions before bidding as well. Payment of $500.00 is due as a non refundable deposit with in 2 days after end of auction. Rest due via cash ,, or check when car is picked up.  Any check will have to clear my bank before title will be signed over. I will help all I can with shipping, but is up to the buyer to ship car,  local pick up would be best , if at all possible. Thanks for looking and enjoy, happy bidding!

Ford rolls out diesel Focus ST at Goodwood [w/poll]

Sun, 29 Jun 2014

If you're in the market for a hot hatch, there are some excellent choices at your disposal - especially if you live in Europe. But if you want a diesel, well, your choices become rather more limited. Volkswagen tends to that niche market with the Golf GTD (essentially an oil-burning version of the GTI available Stateside), but that's about the extent of it. The pleas of those looking for more diesel-burning hot hatch choices haven't fallen on deaf ears at Ford, with the Blue Oval not only rolling out a facelifted gas-powered Focus ST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, but also a new diesel version as well.
The diesel Focus ST (which we hope and pray isn't marketed as the STD) packs a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four producing 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to propel the oil-burning hot hatch to 62 in 8.1 seconds en route to a top speed of 135 miles per hour. With less power and only slightly more torque, that makes the diesel Focus ST considerably slower than the gasoline one, which packs 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, runs to 62 in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 154 mph, but (in a testament to how far particulate filters have come) the diesel model cuts carbon emissions by nearly a third compared to the petrol version and returns about 50-percent better fuel economy, which makes that much more of a difference in markets where diesel is already priced better than gasoline at the pump.
For buyers who wouldn't consider anything other than a diesel, it also represents 23-percent more power than the previous top-level diesel Focus. The VW Golf GTD, for reference, offers up 181 hp (just 1 horse less), 280 lb-ft (15 fewer torques) but is somehow estimated to reach 60 in a considerably fleeter 7.4 seconds.

Ford S-Max Concept previews new look, technology for Euro seven-seater

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Ford unveiled today the S-Max Concept, which comes with a new, sleek look and loaded with innovative technology, such as a heart-rate monitoring seat. But if you're heart is set on a minivan sports activity vehicle (SAV) and you live in the States, don't wait for this one - it's a Europe-only product, and we don't expect that to change when the next-gen S-Max is released.
The styling follows Ford's global design language, looking a bit like an overgrown Focus hatchback with the company's signature grille, wraparound headlamps, steeply raked windshield and curved roof line. Ford also implemented details to make the S-Max look longer and faster, such as a feature line on each side of the vehicle and muscular-looking fenders. The engine isn't Ford's most powerful, but the new 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine should be potent enough with turbocharging and other efficiency related technologies.
Ford says the new interior, which seats up to seven people, features high-quality materials and fine detailing, such as an "ultra-soft" leather wrap for the instrument panel and leather and carbon-fiber details on the seats. Ford's Sync connectivity system with MyFord Touch makes the car a wireless hotspot, and there's a tablet docking station for second-row occupants.

Autoblog's June 2019 Editors' Picks

Wed, Jul 10 2019

Each year we review, test and rate hundreds of brand-new cars, trucks and SUVs. We rate these vehicles using the Autoblog score, giving a select few our Editors’ Pick. Here are the best cars we drove in June 2019. 2019 BMW 8 Series Everyone on the Autoblog staff loves a good grand tourer, so we were excited to get behind the wheel of the revived BMW 8 Series, specifically an M850i Coupe. A good GT needs to be as fast as it is stylish and comfortable, and the new 8 Series delivers. We particularly like the 523-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8Â’s copious power and smooth ride quality, even on MichiganÂ’s pockmarked post-winter roads. We dig the interior design, too, though not everyone was in love with the exterior. ItÂ’s not the best-handling car in its class, and doesnÂ’t hide its sizable proportions very well, but itÂ’s still worth a look if youÂ’re looking for a big, fast cruiser.  2019 Ford Expedition Crossovers may be the hottest vehicles on the market, but thereÂ’s still a sizable demand for traditional body-on-frame SUVs like the Ford Expedition. These behemoths offer plenty of space in addition to truck-like capability. We like the Expedition's smooth ride, powerful twin-turbo V6 and sharp exterior design, though the interior can feel a bit cheap, especially on some of the more expensive trims. Adding options quickly puts it into Lincoln Navigator territory, and itÂ’s hard to recommend the Ford over the Lincoln when the latter packs the same capability into a far nicer package. Still, the Expedition is as good or better than the competition in most respects, and thatÂ’s why itÂ’s one of our picks. 2019 Toyota 86 Few cars at any price point are as much fun as the Toyota 86 (and its twin, the Subaru BRZ). We like the 86Â’s balanced chassis and sharp steering, and while itÂ’s not as nimble as its close rival the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the ToyotaÂ’s back seat and trunk make it a more usable vehicle. But while we like the 86Â’s driving position, the rest of the interior feels cheap and dated, especially the infotainment system. We complained about the anemic powertrain back in 2012, and itÂ’s only gotten worse as the years have gone by.
