Up for Auction is a rare 1966 Galaxie 500 Convertible 7 Litre Edition. The car is a highly optioned 7 Litre. It has factory installed power windows, power locks, cruise control, in dash AC, and best of all the 7 Litre package which includes the legendary 428 ci engine. The car is in exceptional condition for its age. The under side is very nice with only one very small soft spot on the passenger side rear floor pan. The rest of the under side and frame is rock solid. The trunk is amazingly rust free. The only other rust on the car is around the chrome for the convertible top. Most likely where the water sat on after a rain or washing. The engine is a 428 CI with a 4V carb. It will start and run but smokes a bit, it should be rebuilt. The heads and intake are off of a 1968 engine but it is a 428. The trans appears to be original to the car, a C6 automatic. It retains its original front power disc brakes. Some of the electrical works and I think that some of it is unhooked. There is no alternator currently on the car so its make it hard to be sure that everything is hooked up correctly. The power windows nor the top pump would do anything so I imagine that there is no power going to them at all. The headlights, taillights, and turns worked. Several bulbs are out so the turns did not flash. This car needs a total restoration. This is a great base to start with. A super solid body that needs the dings and dents worked out and painted and an engine that needs a little freshening up and you can hit the road in a rare street machine. Please contact me with any questions. 765-376-3486 or email through ebay. The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason. Thanks and Happy Bidding!!!

Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Take a look (or listen) below for the entire video.
Highlights and standouts from the 2015 LA Auto Show
Thu, Nov 19 2015This year's LA Auto Show has been packed with interesting debuts and fascinating industry trends. The Autoblog team is on the scene to examine all the new metal, and Senior Editor Greg Migliore has some show highlights for us in the video above. In particular, the new Fiat 124 Spider and Honda Civic Coupe stand out as important debuts. The Fiat is based on the excellent Mazda Miata, with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and revised styling. The Civic Coupe is a striking redesign of an extremely popular and important model for the company. And the restyled Ford Escape looks more like its bigger brother, the Explorer. There's this an much more in our video above. Watch it and let us know what you think – and look for more LA Auto Show coverage coming soon.
What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
