This 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door sedan was purchased locally several years ago I and I began to work on it in my spare time. I ran out of money and now I must part ways with this car. It has not been driven in three years and I will try my very best to inform of what is right and what is wrong with the car. It is not drivable now but is still in good condition overall. In the past seven years I have located all the missing trim. It has had new brakes (drum brakes), new lifters, new fuel pump, new high pressure oil pump, new A-frame bushings, new windshield seal, new vinyl top, new dash cover. The previous owner told me that he had the heads rebuilt in 1994 for use with unleaded fuel. I drove this car daily for a couple years until gas prices made this infeasible for me. At this point it needs new tires, the front tires are totally rotten and do not hold air. The transmission front seal needs to be replaced and it leaks transmission fluid very badly. The carburetor (factory 2 barrel) needs to be rebuilt and the heater core needs to be replaced. It is not dripping inside but it does not put out any heat. The body is fairly solid but there is some surface rust in a few spots and some body rust in the rear quarters and trunk pan. I have a few extra parts that will be included such as additional window trim, a replacement grill, etc. The 390ci motor and C6 transmission alone are very valuable items and this car has been a great old cuiser. Extenuating circumstances are forcing us to part though! Feel free to ask any questions. I will do my best!

2015 Ford Mustang production starts in Flat Rock

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

Today's the day, Ford fans. Production has officially commenced on the sixth-generation 2015 Mustang at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. As production ramps up, sales should kick off in the coming months.
The production news isn't just a bit deal for American fans. With the new Mustang getting a bespoke right-hand-drive variant, the pony car's worldwide availability has swollen to include 120 different countries, including its home nation.
"Mustang is and will continue to be an automotive icon," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas, said in a statement. "Expanding its availability globally affords our customers around the world the opportunity to have a true firsthand Mustang experience - one unlike any other."

Ford looks to protect logo from Toronto mayor followers

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

One is a member of the Detroit Three and the maker of the Mustang, Fusion, Explorer and F-150. The other is an admitted loudmouthed, drunk-driving, crack-smoking mayor in Canada. Unfortunately for one, it shares its name with the other. Yes, Ford Motor Company is going to great lengths to keep its iconic Blue Oval logo from being appropriated by supporters of besieged Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
At a United Way event earlier this week, some of Mayor Ford's fans showed up with shirts that featured the automaker's logo with the words "Ford Nation," on them. Naturally, Mayor Ford signed them. FoMoCo was quick to issue an unhappy statement:
"Ford did not grant permission for use of its logo. We view it as an unauthorized use of our trademark and have asked it to be stopped," spokesperson Jay Cooney said. There was also a statement from Ford of Canada's Twitter account after a user alerted the company:

Ford reports $3B profit in Q4, $6.9B for the year

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

Good news out of Dearborn today, as Ford announced $3 billion in profit for the last quarter of 2013, a 90-percent increase over the same period of 2012. Net income for all of last year, meanwhile, jumped to $7.2 billion from $5.7 billion in 2012, while pre-tax profits sat at a decade-topping $6.9 billion for all of 2013.
The results of the substantial profit increases are bigger profit-sharing checks for UAW employees. How big? A record $8,800 on average for 47,000 UAW workers, making 2013 the biggest year for profit sharing in Ford history. In total, $414 million will be paid as part of the profit-sharing scheme.
Now, it should be pointed out that a fair portion of Ford's Q4 profits were due to tax benefits, totaling $2.1 billion, according to Automotive News. Total profits would have also been higher, had there not been a significant recall on the Escape, as well as plant issues in South America.
