1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Base 4.7l on 2040-cars
Bay Shore, New York, United States
The car is in good condition for its age it has its original paint on it, from what I can see it has not been repaired or any structural damage due to a crash or accident, the body panels are straight and in good shape however there is some rust spots along the fender trim in the rear quarter panels, there is some other rust spots on the battery tray, and the inner fenders but nothing serious, the floor panels are solid and in good condition the worst rust spot is probably on the trunk drivers side (please look at pictures) and the frame rail under passenger's door.
The engine runs very strong and with no issues it has an Edelbrock intake manifold and a holly carburetor, there is not much I can say about it except that it has not failed me in over two years that I own the car, the transmission shifts smoothly and again it has not fail me yet . I have not done any custom work on this car myself so its as original as when I got it. The interior need a little work the bench seat has a couple of rips on the drivers and passenger side that has been taped off. (lol) there is a crack on the dash board where the speaker is and the headliner needs to be repaired, but obviously non of this affects the drive-ability of the car . Again is a really cool looking car that I use personally almost every day in the summer time, I take it to shows and swap meets and always get compliments on it. I bought the car about two years ago with the intention of restoring it but I have too many other projects and no time for a full scale restoration project besides I have too much fun driving it . I've done a couple of things to it like : a new radiator, new sway bar bushings and end links , new front shocks, rebuild the power steering box , new belts, new exhaust manifold gaskets, it has a modern stereo under the dash. (original radio still in the car) it has a set of vintage keystone wheels with sport radial tires about 80% tread on them , I also have the original steel wheels with original hub caps. This auction has a low reserved, so please ask any questions before bidding the buyer is responsible for picking up the car after paying for it in full. also this car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it becomes unavailable. any question write me an email or feel free to call me 718-926-0511 I'm available to show the car any time upon request in long island NY. |

Ford Fiesta RS with 250 horsepower mooted
Thu, Jan 29 2015We know Ford is unveiling a new Focus RS on February 3, and it's heavily rumored to arrive brandishing an all-wheel-drive powertrain and as much as 350 horsepower. The folks at Ford Performance have also promised they are working on at least 12 models through 2020, and that still leaves a lot of time to get additional exciting vehicles out the door. One of those could be an RS version of the Fiesta, according to Evo. An RS take on the latest Fiesta would obviously need substantial boosts in both power and handling ability to warrant the work over the current top Fiesta ST (pictured above), which is already one of our favorite cars. Evo speculates that the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder could be tuned further, possibly up to about 250 horsepower, and the high-performance hatch might even take some inspiration from the Fiesta WRC rally car with an all-wheel drive system. An unnamed Ford spokesperson remained cagey about the chances for the pint-sized hot hatch to Evo, though. "We can't say anything at this moment, but we have promised to produce 12 performance models in the coming years. We'll leave it for you to decide whether that includes a Fiesta at this moment," the source said to the magazine. Evo doesn't expect a launch across the pond until at least 2017, if it actually happens. Of course, there's the lingering question of whether such a niche project would work in the US. In Europe, the Fiesta RS would challenge similarly diminutive speedsters like the Volkswagen Polo R and Audi S1, but true competitors of an equivalent size here would be much more scarce. In fact with 250 hp, the hotter Fiesta could provide unwelcome competition within Blue Oval showrooms for the Focus ST. Ford rolls out diesel Focus ST at Goodwood [w/poll]
Sun, 29 Jun 2014If you're in the market for a hot hatch, there are some excellent choices at your disposal - especially if you live in Europe. But if you want a diesel, well, your choices become rather more limited. Volkswagen tends to that niche market with the Golf GTD (essentially an oil-burning version of the GTI available Stateside), but that's about the extent of it. The pleas of those looking for more diesel-burning hot hatch choices haven't fallen on deaf ears at Ford, with the Blue Oval not only rolling out a facelifted gas-powered Focus ST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, but also a new diesel version as well.
The diesel Focus ST (which we hope and pray isn't marketed as the STD) packs a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four producing 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to propel the oil-burning hot hatch to 62 in 8.1 seconds en route to a top speed of 135 miles per hour. With less power and only slightly more torque, that makes the diesel Focus ST considerably slower than the gasoline one, which packs 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, runs to 62 in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 154 mph, but (in a testament to how far particulate filters have come) the diesel model cuts carbon emissions by nearly a third compared to the petrol version and returns about 50-percent better fuel economy, which makes that much more of a difference in markets where diesel is already priced better than gasoline at the pump.
For buyers who wouldn't consider anything other than a diesel, it also represents 23-percent more power than the previous top-level diesel Focus. The VW Golf GTD, for reference, offers up 181 hp (just 1 horse less), 280 lb-ft (15 fewer torques) but is somehow estimated to reach 60 in a considerably fleeter 7.4 seconds.
Xcar celebrates 100-year anniversary with Model T tribute
Fri, Jan 9 2015Never mind the fact that XCar hasn't been making videos for the last 100 years, the British duo have gone all silent-moving-pictures in order to make their centenary case for the Ford Model T, a car that was already seven years old in 1915. It's not a review, but a mostly sepia-tinged look at the car that started the mass-market adventure by taking that biblical advice to be fruitful and multiply and populate the Earth abundantly. Since it looks like Xcar is celebrating some kind of milestone, we've also included another video below of the first Xcar review we could find, covering the BMW M1, from the much more recent past - circa 2012.
