1966 Ford Galaxie 2 Door Hardtop Big Block 390 Original Un-restored Low Mileage on 2040-cars
East China, Michigan, United States
I am listing this car for a friend who doesn't have a computer. We are in the same car club and I am happy to list this nice car for him. The car is a low mileage original (not restored). it has just over 54000 original miles from new and is still wearing its original paint. The original vinyl top is in excellent condition as is the complete interior. the paint is starting to check in a few places but over all the car looks great. I took the pictiures of it last week. It needs a little detaling under the hood and maybe a couple of very small touch ups on the paint but the car is very presentable and very drivable just the way it is. It still looks great on the show field. the chrome is nice and it needs nothing but a driver. We were out on our clubs fall color tour a couple of weeks ago and it drove perfect for the 125 mile run. You wont have to spend any money on it to get it in shape, it is there already. The only reason he is selling it is because he is building another car and doesn't want both of them. You won't be disappointed in this car. I would like to encourage a visit to inspect the car. Carl (the owner) is retired and the car can be viewed just about any time. You can either contact me through e-bay or contact Carl direct at this number, 810-329-3085. This car is nice enough to drive home. We will want the deposit paid within 48 hours of the auction end and the balance paid within 14 days. If the balance payment is being maid my check, the car will not be able to be picked up until the funds clear our bank. We will not forward any funds or take any checks outside the US. If you have any questions you can either contact me through e-bay or call Carl at the number listed. We have the car for sale locally so the auction could end early. Carl is the 3rd owner of the car.

BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod
Thu, 20 Jun 2013Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.
Cadillac ELR, Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas win Eyes on Design awards
Fri, 18 Jan 2013This year's annual Eyes on Design awards were presented at the end of press days for the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday. Given out for the best production and concept car designs that debuted at the show, and voted on by an esteemed panel of actual car designers, this year's award for best production vehicle design went to the 2014 Cadillac ELR. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, which was the show favorite among Autoblog editors, apparently did not impress the Eyes on Design judges enough with its all-new vent-festooned design.
The award for best concept design was actually split as a tie among the Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas concepts. Last year's winners were the 2013 Ford Fusion and the Lexus LF-LC concept.
The Eyes on Design organization also presented a new honor this year called the Catalyst Award to Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman of General Motors. Lutz is reported to have given a defense of design in his acceptance speech, arguing that advancements in quality across the industry as a whole have made good design a key differentiator for buyers.
Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with
Mon, 12 May 2014Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
