Up for auction is my beautiful 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible. The 1965 Galaxie was an all-new design, featuring vertically stacked headlights in what was becoming the fashionable style in a car somewhat taller and bulkier than previous year's.
Suspension was dramatically redesigned. Replacing the former leaf-spring rear suspension was the new three-link system, featuring all coils. The ride improved, and handling got a boost, and this system was used for NASCAR in the full-size class. MY BEAUTIFUL 1965 FORD GALAXIE 500 CONVERTIBLE IS A GREAT CAR . IT RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD AND HOLDS THE ROAD WELL. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND WORKS. THE INTERIOR IS IMMACULATE. THERE IS LITTLE TO NO RUST IN THIS CAR CONSIDERING IT IS A 1965. TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND A 352 V8 ENGINE . IT HAS A POWER CONVERTIBLE TOP .THIS IS A GREAT DRIVER QUALITY CAR . THAT TURNS HEADS EVERYWHERE I GO . THIS IS A GREAT CAR TO GO TO LOCAL CAR SHOWS AND CLASSIC CAR MEETS. THE PAINT IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND THE COLOR COMBINATION LOOKS GREAT. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO CALL ME I WILL BE AS HELPFUL AS I CAN ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS AND GETTING YOU ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMTION OR PICTURES THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK.... Muscle wins big at 2013 Amelia Island Concours as 1936 Duesenberg, 1968 Ford GT40 take top honors
Wed, 13 Mar 2013The 18th-annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance took place this past weekend, and in one of the show's biggest years yet (bringing in more than 25,000 spectators and attracting more than 300 vehicles), two powerhouses ended up winning the judges' hearts. The top Concours d'Elegance award went to a 1936 Duesenberg SJN, while the Concours de Sport went to one of the celebrated marques, a 1968 Ford GT40.
Owned by Helen and Jack Nethercutt of Sylmar, CA, this flawless Duesy is described as "one of the most powerful open cars of the 1930s," and it displays design cues of the era like rolled fenders and a tapered rear end. The SJN's supercharged straight-eight allowed it to accelerate to 100 miles per hour in just 17 seconds - surely not a disappointing feat for its day.
On a much different level of performance and timelessness, this Gulf-livery GT40 from the Rocky Mountain Auto Collection is not outdone by the elegance of the big Duesenberg thanks to some well-documented racing history. This not only includes winning at LeMans in both 1968 and 1969 - Chassis No. 1075 also managed to win a total of six times in just 11 races.
2014 Ford Transit unveiled in Chassis Cab and Cutaway versions
Fri, 08 Mar 2013As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.
