                            1965 Ford Galaxie

I bought this car about a month ago on Ebay, since then I found my 1970 Cuda and bought it so I am selling this car. All I am looking for is my original investment.

This Galaxie is an original 390 Z code car, it has a 4 speed transmission in it but originally was 3 on the tree. The guy I got it from said it was bought by a former Highway Patrolman and was raced most of it's life. I do have the race time tickets from dragways so it might be true. The body has all it's original panels and it is a straight car. The dash gauges were changed out to a more modern look and function and all work great.

The only rust I have found is on the left rear quarter drop down behind the wheel on the inside wheel well, and under the battery box. There is NO rust on the body panels. The rust I described is very minimal and an easy repair.

The paint is old and shines like new but closer than 10 feet and you will spot nicks, scratches and what not. I had it buffed and waxed and improved it but it is probably 20 years old or more.

The interior is in really nice condition with new carpet and gauges, there are no tears in the seats or headliner but again they maybe original and don't look new. A good scrub and some condition would make it look much better.

Questions?- call 828-808-3864 or email me. NO TRADES, ask your wife before you bid and don't let your kid have your password and bid. I have heard all of these, and I am sure many of you have too!

1964 Ford GT40 prototype to be auctioned in April

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The Ford GT40 owns a firm spot on the list of the greatest American racecars ever made, being the first car from the United States to take an overall win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And now Mecum will auction what it claims is second-oldest GT40 still in existence at its Houston sale on April 12.
The story of the GT40 is fascinating. Henry Ford II attempted to buy Ferrari in the early '60s, but Enzo refused. Ford decided if he couldn't have them, then he would beat the Prancing Horse on the track. Ford went to Carroll Shelby and asked him to spearhead the program. The early cars combined a steel monocoque chassis with Ford's 4.2-liter V8 engine pumping out around 350 horsepower. The first prototype made its public debuted on April 1, 1964, at the New York Auto Show.
Shelby kept building prototypes, including GT/104, which is for sale here. This version featured a lighter steel chassis and was raced at Le Mans in 1964. However, a fire forced it to retire. It was then repainted and had a 4.7-liter (289-cubic-inch) engine fitted. The chassis had its best finish at the 1965 Daytona Continental 2,000 Kilometers where it finished third with Bob Bondurant and Ritchie Ginther behind the wheel. Later that season, it was shipped back to Ford where it was restored and displayed at auto shows until 1971 when the automaker sold it. Since then, it has had many private owners.

2015 Ford Mustang stars in bizarrely awesome '80s aerobics video

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

For reasons we can't comprehend, here's a music video starring the all-new, 2015 Ford Mustang and a number of dancers dressed and styled in the most stereotypically 1980s way possible. The dancers then take part in a male-versus-female dance off. Again, we've no idea why it exists.
It's weird, and for the second time in two weeks, we're sat at our computer wondering, "What are we watching?" That said, it does show the new Mustang from a number of angles, and it's one of the first car-related YouTube videos we've seen that's available in a 4K, ultra-high-def stream.
Take a look below, and let us know what you think in Comments.

J Mays' legacy

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

Mays is by far not the first designer to use heritage design cues in his work.
The announcement that J Mays will be leaving his chief creative officer role at Ford Motor Company on January 1 ends a 13-year run in one of the industry's top design roles. While best known for having a hand in reborn classics like the Volkswagen New Beetle, Ford Mustang and Thunderbird (above), Mays' legacy is more complicated and nuanced than being considered the father of what is known as "retrofuturism".
