THIS IS A 1964 FORD GALAXY 500 CONVERTIBLE. IT HAS A BURGUNDY BODY, BURGUNDY INTERIOR AND A WHITE TOP. IT HAS A 390 BB ENGINE THAT WAS REBIULT WITH LOW MILES ON IT. THIS WAS MY BROTHERS CAR WHO PAST AWAY APROX. 7 YEARS AGO, THIS CAR HAS BEEN SITTING UNDER COVER FOR APROX. 9 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN STARTED AND MOVED SEVERAL TIMES IN THAT TIME PERIOD, IT RUNS GREAT, SOUNDS GREAT, THE BRAKES AND TIRES HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND ARE GREAT. THE CAR IS SOLID AND STRAIGHT WITH NO RUST ON THE UNDERSIDE, THERE IS A SMALL RUST AREA ON THE TOP OF THE DRIVERS SIDE FENDER ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER, THE PAINT ON THE CAR DOES HAVE SOME ISSUES - THE HOOD HAS SOME SPOTTING AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE SAT SOMETHING ON IT FOR YEARS, YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE PICTURES, THERE IS A FEW PLACES THAT LOOKS LIKE THE PAINT HAS CRACKED ALITTLE, HARD TO SEE BUT IS THERE, I AM TRYING TO PICK OUT ANY FLAWS I CAN FIND, THE PAINT LOOKS GOOD BUT IS NOT PERFECT. THE INTERIOR IS PERFECT, VERY CLEAN AND LOOKS NEW, IT WAS NEW 7-8 YEARS AGO AND STILL IS THAT WAY, IT COMES WITH THE CONVERTIBLE BOOT AND THE REAR WHEEL COVERS, THEY ARE NOT ON THE CAR BUT HAVE BEEN WRAPPED AND LOOK NEW. THE WHITE TOP HAS A SMALL PATCH ON THE TOP, I WAS GOING TO REPLACE THE TOP, BUT IT IS CLEAN AND LOOKS GOOD JUST ONE SMALL SPOT. THIS IS A SOLID CAR THAT WAS RESTORED FROM THE BOTTOM UP APROX. 10 YEARS AGO. I SOLD OTHER CARS HE HAD, A 63 FAIRLANE 500 ON E-BAY AND THE BUYER WAS VERY HAPPY. THE BUYER OF THIS CAR WILL BE HAPPY ALSO. PLEASE SEE PICTURES AND E-MAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS. THANKS

2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*
Wed, Nov 26 2014The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.
Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup
Sat, 08 Mar 2014Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
Ford unveils next-gen S-Max in Europe
Tue, 16 Sep 2014Let's get this unfortunate though important tidbit out of the way right off the bat: The Ford S-Max isn't sold in the United States, and it's not coming here, at least not anytime soon. And so it's with our European friends in mind that we share this information about the next-gen S-Max (previewed about a year ago in concept form) that is set to debut all across Europe next year and will be shown off at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Now, moving on...
As with the first-gen S-Max, the new model will boast seating for seven passengers, along with a decent amount of storage space, all packed into a relatively reasonably sized package. Powering the front wheels (or optionally all four) will be the buyer's choice of EcoBoost gasoline-turbocharged or turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines along with automatic and manual transmission options. Included in the mix is a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 horsepower, though the 240-horse 2.0 is likely to be seen as the headliner.
There are all kinds of new technologies on offer, ranging from Adaptive Steering to Dynamic LED Headlamps with Glare-Free Highbeams, and it's all housed inside new, more sleekly designed bodywork riding atop a chassis with new suspension architecture designed to make the S-Max a people-hauler that's still fun to drive. For all the details, we suggest you scroll down below to read through Ford's official press release.
