                                                                                 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 2Dr. Hardtop

                                                    Z code 390, toploader 4 speed , and open 3.00:1 rear

I have over 120 pictures on my photobucket account that I can't seem to link here. I will email any interested bidders a direct link.

Here is a very solid, great running '64 galaxie that could be enjoyed as is or restore to your liking. I have owned it for 4 years, need to trim down and this one has to go. The paint is shiny driver quality that has been touched up in spots, but presents itself well. The stainless trim and chrome are in very good condition with few flaws. The rear bumper is VERY nice, leading me to think that it must have been re-chromed or replaced. The interior needs work as the pictures show. The headliner is excellent, dash is faded with one split, carpet and front seat cover will need to be replaced, but they are not destroyed and can be used as is.

Things that have been repaired or replaced in the last year:
New clutch kit flywheel balanced and re-surfaced, engine and transmission mounts ( less then 1,000 miles)
New driveshaft, universal joints, rear axle bearings and seals
4 new firestone tires
New battery

I always run Mobile 1 synthetic oil with zddp additive. The 390 starts quickly with no odd noises or smoke. The top loader 4 speed is shifted by a Hurst shifter. The 4 wheel manual drum brakes work like they should with no pulling or pulsating. The front end will need attention, some off the bushings are dry rotting and there is little play in the steering.  The frame and trunk is soild, the floors are good with a minor soft area by the front passenger area.
Heater, wipers, and all outside lights operate as they should.

Thing that would need attention:
Gas and water temp. guages are inaccurate.
Horn not operating.
Interior lights in headliner do not work.
Radio lights when turned on but no speaker is wired to it.

I welcome and encourage potential buyers or independent third party inspectors to come and view the car prior to bidding to decide if this car is right for you.

I require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction end, with the remaining balance due in 7 days. I will assist with shipping.

Please call me @ 631-428-5833 if you have any questions or would like additional or specific information.

Thanks and good luck!

These Canadians somehow forgot how to drive in snow

Tue, Dec 6 2016

Montreal drivers experienced a slow-motion pileup on their streets this weeks thanks to the first snow fall of the season. According to the CBC, slippery conditions caused a small pileup involving cars, buses and even a street clearing vehicle. Onlookers in neighboring office buildings watched as vehicle after vehicle slid down Cote du Beaver Hall and crashed into the scrum of waiting cars. First there was a city bus, then a white Ford F-150 work truck loaded down with ladders, then another city bus came along and sandwiched the poor F-150. A Montreal Police Charger then came down the hill backwards, hit the bus in a slow, sad crash before it was crashed into by an out of control plow truck. Since its posting yesterday, the video of the crash has gone viral. Various other vehicles–a green-topped Scion delivery truck and a couple workaday sedans–were lucky enough to escape the pileup, but still suffered through a white-knuckled slippery descent down the hill. Colin Creado, who works nearby the crash site, told the CBC although it was pretty slippery, he was surprised at all the carnage since the storm was forecast well in advance. "You would have thought ... they would have salted the area or at least cordoned it off, because that road is pretty steep," he told the station. Ford's Farley apologizes for saying Blue Oval tracks customers with GPS

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

Ford marketing head honcho Jim Farley made waves at CES this week by telling show attendees, "We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you're doing it." according to a report by Business Insider. Farley continued by saying, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone."
Farley has since amended his statement, saying that Ford dose not, in fact, track its customers in their cars "without their approval or consent."
Apparently carried away with a hypothetical notion, Farley was attempting to describe how Ford might be able to employee aggregated user data for things like accurate traffic reporting and pattern spotting. A Ford spokesperson confirmed with Business Insider that its GPS units are not sharing the whereabouts of drivers, though there are a few on-board services that might do so. After opting in to the services (and presumably being made aware of any/all tracking and data collection), Ford's Sync Services Directions and Crew Chief software do, in fact, allow data collection as a means of improving both systems. Farley added that the opt-in data is not shared, even when being tracked.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
