For Sale is a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible 2Dr.  It has a clear Michigan Title.  I don't know it's history, but understand it was a barn-find in Virginia.  The vehicle has a 352 CID V8 that was bored-out sometime in the past to a 390 CID.

In the past year it has received the following parts:  new convertible top, new piston rings and push rods, new timing chain and sprockets, new gaskets, new fuel pump, new starter, new generator and voltage regulator, new gas tank and sending unit, rebuilt transmission, tune-up including points/plugs/condenser/rotor and cap, rebuilt carburetor, new u-joints, new thermostat, rebuilt shifting linkage, rebuilt brake master and wheel cylinders, used exhaust manifolds, new fluids, and front and rear spring stiffeners.

The body has an older restoration - the paint shines up nicely but does have a few imperfections.  The convertible top is brand new, and operates with power.  There is a little rust-through on one rocker panel.  The interior is original, and in good condition for its age.  There are no tears or holes in the seats, and all of the glass is in great shape and the windows operate well.  The tires have great tread, however, there are some signs of cracking in the sidewalls.  The car runs well, shifts great, and the older dual exhaust sounds good.

The speedometer and odometer work. The odometer reads 61,000+ miles, but I don't know how accurate that is. Wipers, heater and lights work also.

This is a used car with no warranties. It is sold in an as-is condition. I've tried to list everything I can - don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang to cost $52,995?

Mon, Dec 1 2014

The 2015 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang was one of the shining stars of this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. And the Blue Oval's latest muscle car might even have reason to burn a little brighter if a recent rumor about its price proves true. Best of all are rumors that an even more potent version of the Shelby is potentially on the way. According to Horsepower Kings citing unnamed Ford sources at the LA Auto Show, the 2015 GT350 carries a starting price of $52,995, and the Tech package adds a further $2,995 on top of that. There's also the claim of a Track package for an undisclosed price. However, it doesn't look like LA is the last we'll see of the newest Shelby because the source also alleges that a top-rung GT350R is under development with bigger brakes, modified aerodynamics and sportier tires. This rubber-burner is reported to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. Assuming these claims are correct, it puts the Shelby in fighting form against its two Chevrolet Camaro rivals. Ford reports that the GT350's 5.2-liter V8 pumps out over 500 horsepower and more than 400 pound-feet of torque. At $52,995, it would undercut by a couple of grand the $55,505 (before destination) base price of the 580-hp 2015 ZL1. The super 'Stang might also beat the 505-hp Z/28 with its power rating, while being vastly cheaper than the track-focused Camaro's $72,305 price. This could be quite the performance shoot-out.

Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines

Mon, 27 May 2013

Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.

Ford Explorer is America's new favorite police car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

There is a new vehicle that you should keep an eye out for when you're going a little too fast down the Interstate. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility was the bestselling new law enforcement model in the country last year, and signs show that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ford sold 14,086 Interceptor Utilities in 2013, up 140% from the year before, and 10,897 Interceptor Sedans, up 31%, according to USA Today. Overall, the brand's police sales were up 48 percent, and they were enough to boost the company's law enforcement vehicle market share by 9 points to nearly 50 percent.
The success comes just a few years after it made the decision to finally retire the long-serving Crown Victoria-based cruiser for two more modern vehicles. "We had to reinvent the category," said Chris Terry of Ford Communications to Autoblog. The automaker had to convince police departments that a unibody chassis without a V8 could perform better than a model that had been a law enforcement staple for years.
