1963 Ford Galaxie 500
Motor: 352 V8 Transmission: Automatic 4DR Sedan This car has about 2500 in new parts installed: Professionally Reupholstered Seats with OEM seat cover material from FORD New Fuel Gas tank New Stainless steel fuel tank straps New Fuel Lines from Fuel Tank to motor New Fuel Pressure sending unit All new brake lines front to back New Front brake shoes New Front brake springs New Front brake hoses New brake 10lb check valves New Front Wheel Cylinders New Upgraded Power Booster New Upgraded Dual Bowl Master Cylinder New Front Wheel Bearings New Rear Quarter Panels (Installed) body work is done and in primer New Inner Trunk Extensions (a.k.a inner quarter panels) Also included with car ( not yet installed): New Fuel Pump (in box) New exhaust manifold gaskets (front pass needs to be replaced but not bad) Fullsize Car cover made for this year galaxie. Rear Quarter Panel Trim and Emblems (Car is complete and missing zero trim) This galaxie is complete and all original with matching numbers for everything. I was told it was never in any collisions (which explains the straight body line) and i am the 3rd owner. The car runs, drives, idles, and brakes very well. Once exhaust manifold gasket is replaced it could make for a daily driver if safety features were added like seat belts etc. The rear diver side tire seems to have a slow leak. However, I can get that fixed if requested. Dash is complete and in good shape. Rubber Dash pad is cracked (dryrotted form sun) and will need replacing if needed. However, all parts are available for this car through DearbornClassics website. Even the original am radio STILL works with factory tube amplifier in trunk!! Also has original jack / spare in trunk with tie down. bid with confidence. This is a very nice solid straight car. Needs very minor work to be finished. Body line is extremely straight. |

First 500 European Ford Mustangs reserved in 30 seconds [w/video]
Thu, 29 May 2014We're pretty sure that any initial concerns Ford had about selling the redesigned Mustang in Europe have been lessened considerably, after the first 500 Euro-spec 2015 Mustangs were been reserved in just 30 seconds. Moreover, 9,300 people attempted to snag one of the coveted orders for the all-new muscle car. Yes, Mustang, you should do quite well across the pond.
The registration event was held during the UEFA (pronounced yu-eh-fa) Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.
"We knew there was huge excitement building for the new Ford Mustang coming to Europe, but the response during the UCL Final was overwhelming," said Roelant de Waard, VP of marketing, sales and service for Ford's European outfit. "It was a truly special way to kick off the Ford Mustang era in Europe."
Jay Leno and Lee Iacocca reflect on 50 years of Ford Mustang
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Lee Iacocca oversaw the birth of the Ford Mustang back in the 1960s, rocketing the new pony car nameplate into million-unit sales territory in its initial go-round and cementing its place in the history books. Thus, we were immediately drawn to this latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage, in which the funnyman hosts Iacocca for a look at the origins of Ford's most iconic sports car. The legendary auto exec is looking notably more frail than when we last saw him, but if we're being asked around as a video guest when we're 89 years old, we'll consider that evidence of a life well lived.
Serial No. 0001 is on hand for the occasion for Jay's romp through history, as is the historic Mustang 1 showcar from 1962. Of course, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT (in prototype form) makes an appearance at the end of the episode with chief engineer Dave Pericak, as well. Get some, below.
The 11 most expensive American cars ever
Tue, 12 Aug 2014Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.
