1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500. 390 cu. in. motor that has been
bored out 0.030” over, with Edelbrock High Rise Heads and Intake Manifold, 270
degree cam, producing 400+ hp, coupled to a GM 700-R4 automatic transmission
with Overdrive, (necessary for the high hp). It has an Edelbrock 650cfm 4-bbl carburetor, electric fuel pump,
Griffin High Capacity aluminum radiator w/dual electric cooling fans, anti-sway
bars front & rear, drag link traction bars, Magnaflow mufflers. The
interior and all glass completely replaced 6 years ago and is in perfect
condition. All instruments & gauges work except the Clock. The only maintenance
problem is a minor leak in the Power Steering system. It works fine but has a
small drip when parked. This car was restored in 2008 by a retired NASCAR
Mechanic who built cars for the Holman-Moody Race team. He built this one as
close to the performance of that NASCAR era as possible but still be street
legal. The odometer show 48253 miles but I don’t know the real mileage of the
car. I have only driven it about 3000 miles since I bought it from him in 2008.
I have taken it on the Hot Rod Power Tour and it performed great. It is a real “head
turner” and gets lots of compliments. A deposit of $500 due within 48 hours of the sale ending and the balance due within 2 weeks. Payment may be made via PayPal or a bank wire transfer. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or arranging shipping. |

Ford cleans up painting process with cameras
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.
Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.
Jerry Seinfeld doesn't love Sarah Jessica Parker's new Country Squire in latest CiCGC
Fri, 20 Jun 2014Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has finally returned for its fourth season of combining Jerry Seinfeld, a miscellaneous celebrity and a cup of java. But rather than fondly remembering some older piece of automotive machinery, this time around, Seinfeld is utterly unable to keep his hatred of Sarah Jessica Parker's 1976 Ford LTD Country Squire from coming out to hilarious effect.
However, Parker has such a high level of infectious enthusiasm for her recently purchased Country Squire that she seems to win over Seinfeld by the end - at least a little bit. For most of their time together, the two of them drive around Manhattan and the suburbs waxing nostalgic about what things were like when these wagons were ubiquitous.
Since this is actually SJP's car, she and Seinfeld trade off driving duties, and the image above should give you some indication of Seinfeld's reaction to the Sex and the City star behind the wheel. It seems this '70s land yacht might be a little too much for her to handle in New York traffic. Regardless, she is absolutely in love with her Ford.
