Darlington, Indiana, United States
Vehicle Title:Clear
Make: Ford
Drive Type: Manual
Model: Galaxie
Mileage: 99,999
Trim: 500
Up for auction is a pair of 1962 Galaxie 500's. The first is a G code 406 4 speed car. It is in need of complete restoration. It has a good frame. The floors were patched years ago, and it was a drag car for much of the 70's. It has its original heavy duty front and rear suspension. It retains its 9" rear end but no hog head. It has no interior except a back seat. It has rust in the rear quarters and in the trunk. The inner fenders have been cut out for fenderwell headers. I have a clear title in hand for this car. It will be the gray car in the pictures below. The second car is also a 62 Galaxie 500 that I purchased as a parts car for the 406 car. It is nearly complete minus an engine and trans. It has a full interior all of its trim. Fair body panels, floors and trunk. I was going to use the body of this car to replace the rusty cut up body of the other car. This car does not have or come with a title. This auction is no reserve and sells to the highest bidder. The auction is for both cars. I have the complete 406 engine, tripower, and a 4 speed available for an additional cost but is not included in this auction. Delivery available at a cost or worked into a deal. Please contact me with any questions. This car is truly a piece of history that needs restored. Thanks and happy bidding!!! Cell# 765-376-3486

I have been asked for the VIN numbers on the cars so I thought everyone in the auction should have them. The Gray car is: 3E63GXXXXXX and the black car does not carry a title. It was originally a V8 3 speed manual trans car. Also the G code was originally Ragoon red with Red crush interior, and came with a single track 4.11:1 9" rear, and a Borg warner T-10 4 speed trans, and obviously the 406 tri-power engine.

For everyone interested in the engine.... If I am going to let the engine go it will be in a package deal with both cars, and the engine. I have a Borg warner trans that is not date code correct for the car that I will put with it as well. The engine is complete from breather to oil pan. I was running when I pulled it out of the car and is now sitting on my engine stand. Pictures are available at request. It takes $8000 for everything. If you are interested in it I can ad a "buy it now" price to the auction.

Autoblog Minute: Ford Ranger may return to US
Wed, Aug 26 2015Is Ford planning to bring back its midsize Ranger pickup to the US? Autoblog's Adam Morath reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Is Ford planning to bring back its midsize Ranger pickup to the U.S? I'm Adam Morath, and this is your Autoblog Minute. The Detroit News reports that Ford is planning to build its Ranger Pickup truck at the Michigan Assembly Plant in 2018, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of Ford's plans during its ongoing negotiations with the UAW. Autoblog reached out to Ford for comment. [00:00:30] Quote: "We will move production of the next-generation Ford Focus and C-MAX, which currently are built at Michigan Assembly Plant, beginning in 2018. We actively are pursuing future vehicle alternatives to produce at Michigan Assembly and will discuss this issue with UAW leadership as part of the upcoming negotiations." The 2011 Ranger was the last model-year available in the U.S., though Ford currently sells its redesigned Ranger overseas, including in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. [00:01:00] With pickup sales on the rise, and the recent critical success of GM's Chevy Colorado midsize truck, the time may be right to revive the Ranger, but compact and midsize trucks only make up a small percentage of sales in America. Truck fans out there, let us know what you think: Can the Ford Ranger continue to revive the compact and midsize pickup market in the U.S? Or, will full-size work trucks like the F-150 continue to dominate? Sound off in the comments. For Autoblog, I'm Adam Morath. Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Each segment offers a quick and clear picture of what's happening in the automotive industry from the perspective of Autoblog's expert editorial staff, auto executives, and industry professionals.
2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang rated at 526 hp, 429 lb-ft
Tue, Jun 2 2015When Ford debuted the Shelby GT350 Mustang at the LA Auto Show last year, we were told it'd have more than 500 horsepower and over 400 pound-feet of torque. And indeed it does; Ford confirmed today that its hot 'Stang will make 526 hp at 7,500 rpm and 429 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm. Compared to the GT350's main rival, the Chevy Camaro Z/28, that's an increase of 21 hp, but a loss of 52 lb-ft. That said, this Mustang packs some serious prowess, especially in its most hardcore GT350R trim. It sounds pretty wicked, too. It's worth noting that both the standard GT350 and GT350R use the same engine, with the same output ratings. It's also worth noting that this is a flat-plane-crank engine. It's the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ford has ever made, with 102 hp per liter. Redline is 8,250 rpm. It's a lightweight engine, too – the 5.2-liter mill weighs less than Ford's own 5.0-liter Coyote V8. Perhaps most impressive is the price point for the 2016 Shelby GT350. The standard car comes in at $47,870, while the GT350R will command $61,370 – a big drop over the Camaro Z/28 and it's $73,300 sticker price (including destination but not gas guzzler charges). Ford confirmed the power output news at a media briefing today near its headquarters in Dearborn, MI. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Related Video:
Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems
Sun, 10 Mar 2013The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
