1961 Ford Galaxie Convertible Restored Immaculate No Reserve on 2040-cars
Flushing, New York, United States
More infos regarding my car at: bennybrrannels@clubjaguar.com .
Hi, I’m selling my 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner Convertible. Very “RARE” and highly collectable car. One year
only made with the 1961 Galaxie Sunliner being the last year of the “TAIL FINS,” “TURBINE LOOKING REAR
TAILLIGHTS” and bunch of other special touches that were made to this model back in the day. This car was frame
off restored a few years back to factory specs and enjoyed every single mile that was put on ever since.
It features a rare color combo Corinthian White exterior and factory 2 tone white on red interior, and new carpet
was installed during the restoration. It has a 292 “Y” block Ford Thunderbird Special engine with an auto
trans, power steering, aluminum 3 core radiator, new gas tank, new fuel lines, new brake lines, all new front end
(upper & lower control arms, ball joints, idle arms, inner / outer tire rods all the bushings, etc...), new front
to back dual factory specs exhaust etc..
Floors, trunk pan and quarters are super solid, no patch panels all original steel in mint condition. Interior is
mint with no rips tears or cuts, new powered convertible top with zip down back window. All glass and stainless is
in excellent condition. Paint is just as good as show quality with normal wear. Comes with chrome side skirts,
original bumper jack, spare tire, and original style trunk liner as you see in the pictures.
Fully working gauges, original AM radio, original clock, lights(low and high beam), blinkers, rear tail lights,
reverse lights, wipers, original heater, etc...After market Pioneer radio was installed in the glove box with USB
connection for iPod and Bluetooth compatibility for any smart phone. New Undercover II Speakers were installed
under the front seat, and the tweeters were upgraded to O Zone tweeters. To get max performance out of it all an
amp was added under the back seat. All panels remain original and nothing in the car was cut to install the
aftermarket radio and speakers. If you wish to remove it, it can be done in less than 10 min.
The car has 60,xxx original miles on the body and less then 2k miles on the engine and trans since restoration. I
am the second owner of the car, it was looked after and pampered since day one. Comes with original bill of sale
from the dealership, warranty card and other misc. papers from the time of the purchase from 1961.
Car runs and drives flawlessly. Always turns heads and draws crowds where ever I go.

2015 Ford Mustang to make world debut on Dec. 5 [w/video]
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Between a bevvy of spy shots, speculative renders and insidery images from the halls of Car and Driver, we've got a pretty decent idea of what the 2015 Ford Mustang might look like. Still, we're excited to see the real deal as soon as possible.
Turns out that Ford has told us just when that first official look might come, too, although it has chosen somewhat of a backdoor fashion for dropping the news.
The video below popped up on the Ford Mustang YouTube channel this morning, promoting a social media effort called #MustangInspires on. The video and hashtag ask fans of the pony car to share pictures of the car - or "photographic stories of inspiration" - on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But the truly interesting part of the video description is that which mentions taking "the cover off the all-new Mustang" on December 5. Consider our calendars marked.
Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017
Sun, 15 Dec 2013Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.
Ford shutters Genk assembly plant in Belgium
Tue, Dec 23 2014Ford has become the latest automaker to close one of its European assembly plants. The facility in question is located in the Belgian city of Genk and has been in operation since the early '60s when it started building the Taunus, Ford's first mass-produced, front-drive model. As part of the plan first announced over two years ago, the Genk Body & Assembly Plant is now closing its doors after half a century in the business and over fourteen million vehicles built. Although the plant itself employed some 5,000 workers, once you take into account the suppliers built up around the plant, the overall impact on employment in the area edges closer to 12,000. Genk Body & Assembly had until recently been tasked with producing the Mondeo sedan (which in its current iteration we know as the Fusion) as well as the S-Max and Galaxy minivans. Production of the Mondeo shifted in 2013 to the company's plant in Valencia, Spain, which also handles the Kuga crossover and Transit Connect cargo van, and will soon take over the minivans from Genk as well. The move follows a similar decision undertaken by General Motors to close the Opelwerk plant in Bochum, Germany. It also reflects a scaling down of automobile production in Belgium specifically: although Audi still manufacturers in Brussels and and Volvo in Ghent, Opel closed its plant in Antwerp in 2000 and Renault ceased production in Vilvoorde back in '97. However Ford still maintains its famous proving ground half an hour to the north in Lommel, Belgium.
