2003 Ford Focus Svt 2.0l 6spd 2d Hatchbk / 58k Mi-- 2nd Owner! Sunroof! Leather! on 2040-cars

OUTSTANDING VALUE! Simply the BEST for a Ford Focus SVT you'll find anywhere on eBay! I am the proud second owner of this car, which I first bought from a friend in Chicago back in 2008 with 22K miles and has since travelled the country with me... from Los Angeles, California all the way to Brooklyn, New York!

Financial circumstances are forcing me to sell this vehicle, which is truly the BEST car I have ever owned.  I would keep it if I could afford to.  My loss is your gain!  This SVT Focus hatchback has ALL the extra options available, including:

  • SUNROOF!
  • HEATED Leather Seats
  • Engine Block Warmer
  • HEATED side mirrors
  • 6 CD Changer (needs servicing, skips CDs occasionally)
  • Power windows and locks
  • Cruise control & ABS brakes
  • Almost-New SVT Rims

This car will ALSO come with several extra tools and goodies that I've purchased along the way, including:
  1. Spare oxygen sensor (rear sensor)
  2. Innova ODB2 Diagnostic Code Reader
  3. Rapid Car Battery Charger (2/6/10 amps)
  4. Emergency Roadside Kit (contains reflective signs/flares/lights/etc)

This car has been pampered since it rolled off the dealer's lot in 2003. Only small dings and scratches are present on the outside of the vehicle, which has been freshly serviced, washed and waxed in preparation for its new owner. My only gripe as this vehicle's 6-year owner is the poor choice of Ford's engineering team to position the oxygen sensors at the front of the axle (so, when you run over a large pothole, your O2 sensor is usually going to get hit). My solution to date has been to stock-up on front and rear Motorcraft oxygen sensors in bulk and replace about once a year when that pesky check engine light pops on.  :-)

BID WITH CONFIDENCE!  I have been a member of eBay for nearly 10 years and have an unparalleled reputation for integrity.  WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET... NO TRICKS AND NO GIMMICKS!

BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: This car is being sold for CASH ONLY in AS-IS condition.

Buyer MUST pick up the vehicle from my garage in Brooklyn, NY (near the Classon Ave 'G' Train station) within 72 hours of auction's end with CASH IN HAND!

eBay Find of the Day: 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra prototype

Wed, 08 May 2013

Over the last decade or so, competition in NASCAR has led to some pretty funky looking racecars. And when the sport was still up and coming, the tight competition actually led to some interesting production cars. The Dodge Charger Daytona and Plymouth Superbird are perhaps the most well-known cars of the sport's "aero wars" era but the Ford Torino King Cobra might have been the most memorable of all, if not for some different homologation rules established in 1970. The Torino King Cobra never made it to production and never competed in NASCAR, but three examples exist including this one now for sale on eBay.
Designed as a successor for the aero-tuned Torino Talladega, the Torino King Cobra has a sleeker front end with hidden headlights and a sloped nose. As the story goes, NASCAR made a rule change in 1970 requiring 3,000 of the vehicles to be produced, which was substantially more than the 500 units required by the previous rule. One of the three prototypes ever built - and the only one built with the Boss 429 engine - is now for sale on eBay with a starting bid of $500,000. With a little more than three days left on the auction there are still no bids, but in the grand scheme of things this seems like a relatively fair price for a rare piece of automobile and racing history.

Ford reveals Fiesta ST race car, points at road ahead for bigger things in Global RallyCross

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST doesn't go on sale until this summer, but fans of Global RallyCross will be able to catch the car in action before then. Announced ahead of the Chicago Auto Show, the Fiesta ST will be the car run by Ford GRC teams this season, and the model on display in Chicago will be the racecar built by Swedish tuner OlsbergsMSE driven by Tanner Foust and Brian Deegan. Ken Block and his newly renamed Hoonigan Racing Division will also be competing in the Fiesta ST.
The 2013 GRC season has not been announced yet, but the venues will also include the summer X Games events in Brazil, Spain, Germany and, of course, Los Angeles. Ford announced that it will be the sole automotive sponsor of this year's summer X Games, and it will be looking to bring home a gold medal this year after Block placed silver last year.
In other Ken Block- and Ford-related news, another Chicago debut will be a tuned Focus ST called the TrackSTer project. Built in cooperation with Block, Ford and automotive tuner fifteen52, the TrackSTer will get plenty of styling, performance and handling upgrades. Some of the add-ons include a performance exhaust and short-throw shifter from Ford Racing, a rebuilt engine, upgraded components such as the limited-slip differential, intercooler, engine controller and clutch as well as upgraded brakes.

Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
